Lizzie is a people-loving social butterfly who knows exactly what she wants: YOUR attention! She’s all about headbutts and cuddles. She may be a quiet girl, but don’t let that fool you. You’ll know she’s around when she’s weaving between your legs, making sure you remember who the real VIP of the household is. When she’s not demanding affection, she’s happy to show off her hunting skills with teaser toys or get a little silly with some catnip.

Lizzie has a bit of a diva streak when it comes to sharing her space with other cats. She likes to hiss at her feline foster siblings, so she’d probably prefer to be your one and only. That said, she may be able to coexist with calm, respectful cats who give her plenty of space, provided her adopters are willing to take introductions nice and slow. She could also do well with respectful, cat-savvy kids. Dogs are an unknown, as she hasn’t met one yet.

Lizzie is estimated to be about 1 year old. She has been spayed, microchipped, flea-treated, dewormed, fully vaccinated, and has tested negative for FIV/FeLV.

Lizzie is ready to find her people, claim her favorite spot on the couch, and supervise all household activities from a comfortable distance (or directly on top of you). If you’re looking for a fun, affectionate companion with a little sass and a lot of personality, Lizzie might be your girl!

“All you have to do is look hard enough, and what might seem to be a series of unfortunate events may in fact be the first steps of a journey.” Meet Lemony Snickett, the absolute sweetest gentleman you’ll ever meet. Wondering why the name for such a purrfect cat? Well, let’s just say his transition into foster life was challenging.

Lem was found as a stray and immediately won the hearts of the rescue with his elderly appearance - turns out, he was indeed not elderly but just in need of some extra TLC and good grooming! He is a total lovebug who wants nothing more than to be near his person, curled up on your lap while you hang out on the couch. He enjoys cat treats and loves any and all kinds of love and affection. Lemony is child friendly and tolerant of dogs.

Lemony is estimated to be around three years old. He is neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, flea treated, dewormed, and has tested FIV negative, FeLV positive (regressive). A regressive infection occurs when a cat’s immune system successfully controls the virus. Lemony is currently less likely to be able to infect other cats with feline leukemia and is less likely to be sick with FeLV-related disease; however, his regressive status could change over time. We would recommend that he be adopted as a solo cat, or to a home with other FeLV regressive cats.

If you’re looking for a talkative Velcro kitty who is a gold star bathroom greeter, this is your man. He’d love to be you partner for any and all tasks throughout the day!

Adoptable Turtle coming at ya with a reminder straight from the “drama llama”. (And trust us, no one wants to deal with the drama llama.)

BUT. 👀

Idk why we have to keep saying it (we post it frequently and it is in our email signature) - TCR is run 100% by a small team of volunteers. We are so fortunate to have people sick in the head enough to want to dedicate SO MUCH TIME to helping us and cats for no benefit other than whatever sense of accomplishment they get by helping. Our volunteers and fosters and board members are some of the best people you’ll ever meet.

Everything we do and achieve within the rescue is above and beyond every other life obligation in the “extra” time that we have left over after work and everything else mandatory is done. And inevitably, rescue stuff bleeds into that and chips away at what we can do with our friends and families, our sleep schedules, our lives.

Case in point:
We’ve been at the vet (three different vets) seven times so far this week. Every day but Friday. We’ve been up since 1:30am with a sick kitten. We give up holidays and seeing our families and going on vacation and having tidy homes and forget having time to go grocery shopping or even eating regularly, or sleeping really because we are almost always doing something for cats.

Trapping cats, cleaning crates, foster rooms, litter boxes. Transporting back and forth to vet visits and spay/neuter. Scheduling appointments. Socializing cats. Checking in with fosters. Planning and attending events. Keeping up with store partnerships. Fundraising for every medical expense under the sun. Processing adoptions. Vet reference and landlord checks. Staying compliant. We get literal hundreds of messages per day between all platforms (email, socials, etc). It takes HOURS to respond to everyone each day.

So - remember when you leave a negative review for us this is who you are reviewing, not a team of Oompa Loompas capable of processing your adoption application at whatever speed you deem acceptable.

We don’t care about bad reviews, but we want people to have some clue what effort goes into getting these cats off the street and into good homes. Just a reminder. ✌️ taken in Trash Cat Rescue by @trashcatrescue

If you’re interested in having a sweet and easygoing kitty companion, Swiper’s laid back personality might just be the perfect fit for you. He came to TCR from a trailer park colony outside of Pittsburgh and has now fully embraced life as a pampered housecat. Fortunately, he hasn’t lived up to his name in his foster home, so we suspect his former feeders were fans of Dora the Explorer - Swiper no swiping!

Swiper’s a big fan of being petted and getting some good cheek and forehead scritches while sprawled out next to you on the couch. He’s the kind of cat who will always be excited when you break out a wand toy for a play session, while being just as satisfied relaxing and doing his own thing. Swiper also does a great job at matching his feline foster sisters’ energy - he knows to let his shy sisters live in peace, while indulging the other with a playful smackdown when she ropes him into her impromptu wrestling tournaments! He would do well in a household with other friendly cats and possibly dogs (with proper introductions of course), though we think he’d be perfectly content as a solo kitty, too.

As if we needed to highlight more than his sweet personality, this little lion-faced guy also has some fun, distinctive physical features. Instead of the typical tabby M on his forehead with stripes down his back, he’s got a diamond forehead and unique swirly patterns on his sides. His foster mom is also obsessed with his little pinky toes because they often stick out from the rest when he stretches or reaches out for a toy!

Swiper is estimated to be about 2 years old and has been neutered, flea treated, dewormed, microchipped, vaccinated, and tested FIV+/FeLV-. If you’re looking to *swipe* yourself a chill feline friend, consider applying to adopt him today!

Well, butter my biscuit! Looks like we’ve got ourselves a little troublemaker! Crash was found all alone in the engine of a car, apparently trying to hitch a ride to somewhere more exciting. We’re not sure where he was headed, but he certainly didn’t stay a lone ranger for long! He was taken in by Pearl Heart as her adopted son and became the little brother of Annie Oakley. Now he’s got a family, a whole lot of personality, and absolutely no plans to settle down just yet.

Crash is outgoing, ridiculously funny, and super sweet. He’s got a mischievous streak a mile wide and enough energy to give a bucking bronco a run for its money. This boy loves to play, run around, wrestle with his sister, and generally make a spectacle of himself. He’s the kind of kitten who turns a quiet afternoon into a full-blown rodeo.

Of course, every good outlaw needs a partner in crime, and Crash has a couple of options! He’d love to be adopted with his adopted sister, Annie Oakley, or join a home with another young cat who’s ready to match his energy. He’s far too social and playful to be the only feline on the ranch! Crash hasn’t met children or dogs yet, but his outgoing personality makes us think he could do well with either given proper introductions.

Crash 3.5 months old. He is neutered, vaccinated, dewormed, microchipped, flea treated, and has tested negative for FIV/FeLV. He’s ready to leave his days of engine-hopping behind and enjoy the good life with a family who appreciates a little harmless mischief.

There’s a new gunslinger in town, but don’t let the name fool you! Pearl Heart may share a name with the infamous Wild West outlaw, but the only thing this girl is guilty of is stealing hearts. Her weapons of choice? Her killer eyes and super sweet personality.

Pearl is an incredibly sweet, calm girl who loves attention from her people. She’s very treat motivated, so if you’re looking to win her over, you might want to come prepared with a few snacks. She loves being pet and is more than happy to trade a little affection for a tasty reward.

This girl has spent her time being a wonderful mama to her daughter, Annie Oakley, and even welcomed an adopted son, Crash, into her family. She’s done a great job raising her little posse, but now it’s time for Pearl to retire from motherhood and find a family who will spoil her for a change. She would love to be adopted alongside Annie Oakley, so these two can start their next adventure together. Or she would also likely be fine as a solo cat running her own wild west(ern Pennsylvania) town.

Pearl would also likely do well in a home with other cats. She hasn’t met children or dogs yet, but her calm, gentle nature makes us hopeful she could do well with either given proper introductions.

Pearl is estimated to be 1 year old. She is spayed, vaccinated, flea treated, dewormed, microchipped, and has tested FIV/FeLV negative. She’s ready to leave her outlaw days behind and settle into a life of cozy naps, tasty treats, and unconditional love- apply today!

Introducing the fastest cowgirl in the west… Annie Oakley! This rare orange girl may be small, but she’s got the spirit of a rodeo champion and enough energy to keep the whole ranch on its toes. She’s not here to cause trouble, though — she’s here to make friends, chase toys, and turn every ordinary day into an adventure!

Annie is a spunky, outgoing girl who absolutely loves people. She’s always ready for her next adventure and has energy to spare! Whether she’s zooming around the room, playing with her favorite toys, or looking for someone to give her attention, this girl is always in the middle of the action. She’s got the confidence of a seasoned gunslinger and the charm to match.

Annie would love to ride off into the sunset with her mama, Pearl Heart, or her foster brother, Crash. She’d also be happy to join a home with another young, playful resident cat who can keep up with her antics. One thing is certain: Annie must go to a home with another cat or be adopted with one of her feline friends. This social little cowgirl needs a companion to share her adventures with!

Annie hasn’t met children or dogs yet, but her outgoing personality makes us optimistic that she could do well with either with proper introductions.

Annie is 3 months old. She is spayed, flea treated, microchipped, dewormed, vaccinated, and has tested FIV/FeLV negative. Think you can keep up with this little gunslinger? Annie Oakley is ready to mosey on over to her forever home and make it her own!

Unlike the Miranda from The Devil Wears Prada, this Miranda enjoys the small things in life. A comfy blanket to nap on, a box to sit in, and a good hug is all this sweet girl needs to be happy!

Miranda is not a playful cat, much preferring the simple joy of company. She would be delighted to spend a lazy afternoon with you cuddling on the couch watching TV or reading a book. She also loves pets- she can really get into a great head rub! One thing that Miranda really goes crazy over is catnip.

Miranda does not like loud noises or sudden movements so small children may be too overwhelming for her. She would be fine around other calm cats or dogs after slow, proper introductions or completely happy as a solo pet. Miranda can get dry skin but a daily dose of fish oil keeps it healthy. She is also on a diet for calorie control until she reaches a healthy weight.

Miranda is estimated to be 2.5 years old. She is spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, flea treated, dewormed, and has tested negative for FIV/FeLV. If you’re looking for some good couch company, apply for Miranda today!

Last but certainly not least, is our Golden Girl Dorothy. In a different life Dorothy was a fierce Puma—at least that’s what she tells herself as she loves to stalk the feather wand and pounce on her prey (foster mom’s foot underneath the covers). When she’s not hunting, she throws her whole body into her chin scritches to the point of nearly toppling over! Dorothy is a sweet, gentle kitty that won’t say no to some wet food or Churu!

Dorothy has come a long way since being in foster—from hiding in a paper bag to now lounging on the bed and starting to play. She’s still shy and startles easily but continues to make remarkable progress. She should go home with patient adopters like cat savvy adults and older children who will give her time to settle in. She seems hesitant of the resident senior dog and would probably do best in a home without a dog or a calm one that respects boundaries. Similarly, Dorothy could do well as a solo cat or with a friendly resident cat with slow introductions.

Dorothy is estimated to be around 1 years old. She is spayed, flea treated, dewormed, vaccinated, microchipped and has tested negative for FIV/FeLV. If you’re in the market for an apex predator in spirit, Dorothy is your girl!

This cute little flower is Primrose! She’s petite, pretty, lovable, and ready to find her forever family. Prim is so social with people. She has teeny little meows and purrs, likes to follow her people around, and loves to be petted and given attention. She’s easy to handle and doesn’t mind being picked up or held. Her easy-going nature would make her a good candidate for many different kinds of homes.

Primrose knows no strangers, adults and children alike. She lives in a colony room with other kitties. Prim was a bit timid at first and was a “boundary setter” with the other cats. However, she is settled in just fine and getting along well with the other cats. She would be good with other cats when given slow, proper introductions. She could also likely be fine as a solo cat. She was equally timid, but curious, with the foster family’s dog. She could potentially live with a cat-savvy, respectful dog also given slow introductions.

Primrose is estimated to be around a year old. She is spayed, microchipped, flea treated, dewormed, vaccinated, and has tested negative for FIV/FeLV. Would you like a sweet little tortie in your life? Please apply today!
