Mural Project COMPLETED!
This project has been such an amazing experience.
I never thought that I would be able to accomplish something so cool. Young me would be so proud 🥰

The last two weeks have been an adventure, from being 60 feet up in the air on a wind shook lift to painting in the 40-degree weather- all to be able to create something magnificent for DT Albany to enjoy every day.
I'm very thankful to have had @tonyiadicicco as a lift buddy and painting partner to help me with the small details and stay sane.

I hope to do more murals in the future and see more positive representation of bipoc folx on walls. For now, back to focusing on getting back to a normal sleep schedule, answering 500 emails, and and planning for the next Amplified Voices :)

-------------------------------
Find this #CapitalWalls mural on 39 Columbia Street in Downtown Albany. Shout out to partners @albanycentergallery , @albanybarn , and @downtownalbany , New York BID, and curator Tony Iadicicco for collaborating in the development and management of the DRI grant award which was administered and funded by @NYSHCR. Big shout out to Redburn Development for the space :)

✨️Library Murals Are the Best Kinds of Murals ✨️
Such a fun experience working with @albanynylibrary creating this community-based piece.
Its packed with so many Easter eggs that all related back to Albany, freedom of expression, and the joys of reading.

If you have a library card make sure to use it! If you dont have one yet, make sure to pick one up at your local library! Libraries are SO important for our free speech, educational + creative growth, and our communities. Having fun isnt hard, when you got a library card 😉 by @trashkid_art

🌿✨ Thrilled to unveil my @opositivefest mural, "Escape to Nature; Where Peace Awaits II" displayed at @radiokingstonny

This year's O+ Festival theme, 'NOISE,' inspired me to reflect on the different ways we experience noise. For many, and myself, who are neurodivergent or on the spectrum, noise isn't just about volume—it's about impact. My mural reimagines noise as a presence that can be soothing and grounding rather than overwhelming. It's about finding that quiet space where you can connect with the sounds of nature and the hum of our own thoughts. I wanted to show how I, and others, find relief from the sensory overload of the world around us by connecting with noise in a different way.

Thank you, O+ Festival, for the opportunity to share this perspective and all the amazing support + free healthcare. My back finally isn't hurting for the first time in a year!

If yall haven't heard about @opositivefest , definitely give them a follow and stay up to date on what they got going on next 🤙🏾

Shout out to @september_colors for being my mural assistant and @johnnybhole @mixingthemedicine for stopping by and adding some paint to the wall with me.

Also, now a big fan of @zibrapainting and @goldenpaints
when it comes to murals. Like wow, the quality is unbeatable.

More to come 💜

Last weekend I was awarded the Resourceful Womens award in the Arts Catagory from @ywcagcr! Its such a great feeling to see your hard work recognized, especially by such an amazing organization.

Ive put alot of hard work into my Youth Programming and Arts Career since 2020 + this is my 3rd year being a FT artist feels so great ✨️ I love to practice what I preach, and that is anyone can be a FT creative if you have the resources and community support available to you. And thats the goal of my programs and existence, to make an art career accessible for all who want it.

Thanks again YWCA for recognizing the work of some truly amazing women through the Capital Region ✨️ by @trashkid_art

A family of local artists, Jade Warrick, Quill Harrison, Zoe Harrison and Shalom Harrison, recently completed painting an impactful 108’ mural in Rotterdam Junction. They came to the tunnel along the Mohawk-Hudson Bike-Hike Trail to speak with cyclists, walkers, and people in the surrounding community, and by the time their proposal was selected from more than 100 applicants, some of the mural already belonged to the people they had met. Adem Jones had the pleasure of connecting with them to speak about the process and what it means to them and the community. That article was in our September issue (still available, but not for long!) and now can be viewed on our website. by @trashkid_art

Since the start of the month, three siblings have been spending their afternoons painting both sides of the more-than-100-foot tunnel in Rotterdam Junction. The walls are now adorned with woodpeckers, frogs, herons, deer and other animals.

Quill Harrison and their siblings Jade Warrick and Zoe Harrison have spent much of the past month in and out of that tunnel, painting. The siblings all took up painting separately. They worked independently until Warrick suggested they all join forces.
