Feeling stressed or overwhelmed? 💭🌿

For International Stress Awareness Week, we’re sharing a simple, gentle technique to help you pause, reconnect with your body and manage moments of stress.

The Butterfly Hug is an EMDR-inspired grounding technique that uses gentle, alternating taps on each side of the body. 🦋

✨ Take a moment for yourself:
🤍 Cross your arms over your chest.
🤍 Gently tap left, then right, at a comfortable pace.
🤍 Take a few slow breaths and notice how you feel.

You don’t have to push through every stressful moment. Sometimes, taking a mindful pause can help you feel more grounded and present.

Remember, there’s no one-size-fits-all approach to managing stress. If this technique feels comfortable for you, it’s something you can return to whenever you need a moment to pause. 💚

✨ Save this video as a reminder to slow down and make space for yourself.

Depression can sometimes resurface when past experiences, memories or emotional triggers are reactivated. 💙

EMDR therapy offers a structured approach to working with depression by exploring recent experiences, identifying underlying memories and addressing present-day triggers that may be contributing to how you feel.

Through the DeprEnd Protocol, EMDR therapists can work with past and present experiences, while also helping you develop a more adaptive, compassionate perspective towards yourself and the future.

With the right support, it is possible to begin making sense of these patterns and work towards positive change.

💙 If depression is affecting your everyday life, support is available.

What role can EMDR play in OCD treatment?

EMDR is best known for treating trauma and PTSD. For some people with OCD, distressing memories, past experiences or feared future scenarios may contribute to the emotional distress associated with their symptoms.

When clinically appropriate, EMDR may complement CBT, including Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), by helping to process relevant distressing experiences.

OCD treatment isn't about eliminating every intrusive thought. It's about learning to respond differently to distress and uncertainty, and reducing the impact OCD has on everyday life. 🤍

If OCD is affecting your everyday life, you don't have to navigate it alone. Reach out to learn more about the support available.

OCD Awareness Week 🧠

OCD is often misunderstood and misrepresented.

It isn’t simply being tidy, organised or a perfectionist — and it isn’t a quirky phrase to describe something you like done a certain way.

For many people, OCD can be a deeply distressing and exhausting experience, involving intrusive thoughts, images, urges or sensations and compulsions that may be visible or entirely internal.

This week, we’re encouraging greater awareness, empathy and understanding of what it can really mean to live with OCD. 🤍

If OCD is affecting your everyday life, support is available.

This World Mental Health Day, let’s shift the narrative.

You are not broken, defective, or weak.

What you are feeling is often the result of unprocessed memories and experiences that your nervous system held onto to keep you safe. 💚

EMDR therapy honors your brain’s natural ability to heal, helping reprocess distressing memories so you can live free from shame, update old core beliefs and step fully into the present. 🌿✨

Remember: It’s not what’s wrong with you. It’s what happened to you.

You don't have to tell the full story out loud to heal from it. 🌿

The Silent Memory Protocol in EMDR allows clients to access locked trauma networks through felt emotions and body sensations—without needing to verbally share distressing details.

Your therapist guides your body and mind safely while your brain updates old memories with present-day safety.

October is Mental Health Month in Ireland and is also a month when there is increased awareness of ADHD, OCD and neurodiversity.

Standard talk therapy doesn't fit every client and that's okay.

For neurodivergent clients, EMDR offers a gentle, powerful way to process trauma without needing to over-explain or re-live painful details. Beyond healing past core beliefs like ""I'm defective"" or ""I don't belong,"" EMDR reprocesses current everyday triggers, builds affect tolerance and expands capacity to navigate new sensory experiences with ease. 🌿

Swipe through to learn more.

No travel. No waiting rooms. Just support, wherever you are.

Memory is not a fixed recording of the past. 🧠

When we remember an experience, the brain reactivates networks involving sensations, emotions, context and meaning.

This is especially relevant to traumatic memories. Something in the present can sometimes activate old associations of fear, danger or helplessness, making the past feel unexpectedly close.

Research into memory reconsolidation suggests that when a memory is reactivated, there may be a window in which new information can become integrated with what was previously learned.

Importantly, remembering does not automatically change a memory and updating does not mean forgetting.

The neuroscience of memory reconsolidation shows us that healing from trauma is possible.

This also explains the often rapid and lasting symptom reduction observed in EMDR therapy 🤍
