You all know how much I love and cherish “ Tahiti & Her Islands “ - so last night was a very special night , which allowed us , for a few hours to “ travel “ to this magical destination- thanks to a beautiful evening , spent at the @GettyCenter
celebrating #Tahiti & Her Islands , where we attended the unveiling ceremony of the 1776 painting of Sir Joshua Reynold’s iconic 18th Century painting, a “Portrait of Mai”.
This painting , interesting enough , remained in the artist studio until his death in 1792-
The celebration , sponsored by @tahitiititourisme Tourisme ( Maururu Roa for the invitation) , Air Tahiti Nui and the AFD brought us a touch of the beauty of French Polynesia with traditional music, dance and an immersion of Island culture.
The masterpiece depicts Mai, a man originally from the island of Raitea, who became the vet first Polynesian traveler to visit Great Britain in 1774, before returning home to the islands in 1776 on Captain James Cook third voyage to the Islands -

Work hard .. play hard .. on the very last night !
I simply love love ❤️ the Gala dinner .. so elegant!! Great company !! Great Table ( I always invite my favorite suppliers !)
❤️ Abel ,Deborah ,Caroline ,Kostas Michelle ,Shane ,Petra ,Silvia &Pablo
And of course .. the dinner is always followed with a night at the Club V !! When a few thousand participants celebrate the end of a very enjoyable & enriching week !!
I could finally return to dancing !!!yeah !!!!

About last night !!! June 18th
Celebrating our 21st Wedding Anniversary 💕… in LA … a rare occasion.. we had planned to do so downtown LA .. reservations were made … but .. we got stuck in the biggest traffic jam I have ever seen !!! 1h30 after we left home .. we were only in Culver City … and my GPS kindly alerted me that we had 1 more hour to reach our destination!!
Decisions had to be taken fast !!
Max got on the phone .. researched & found a reservation 7mns from where we were .. off we went .. parked and when we entered the restaurant, found a very inviting atmosphere & a so so ( and expensive) menu ! Not a good combo you might say !!
So I said :”How about the @culverhotel ” ? I love that place .. full of history, romantic, and with great food & service !!
Back on the phone & lucky us .. got a table for 7:15pm -
Culver City was packed .. bars were packed .. with Soccer Fans !!
As we entered , smiles were welcoming us , the best romantic table was given to us , the nicest waitress was waiting on us , and …. A trio band was setting up .. and do you believe it that the singer was French.. and started with a French Love song ❤️!! How lucky was that !!

Dear Travel Industry Friends ,
As you know, our dear friend and colleague Helga Bacchetti passed away suddenly on April 4th -
a heartbreaking shock to all of us.
Helga brought warmth, kindness, joy, and her beautiful smile to everyone fortunate enough to know her. She touched so many lives in both friendship and travel, and her absence is deeply felt.

Many of you had reached out asking how you can honor Helga and pay your respects, and to gather together to remember and celebrate the wonderful person she was.
Since her family held this past Wednesday a private Celebration of Life for close family and friends, her Let’s Travel family is honored to host a separate "Celebration of Life " open to everyone in her beloved travel community.
Please join us , if you are able to , to share memories, stories, laughter, and friendship in Helga’s honor.

Date : Wednesday, May 20th
Time : 4:00–7:00 PM

(For those who may not know it, it is the small pocket park around the corner from Let's Travel former office in Santa Monica. During Covid, when their physical office closed, it became their gathering place — what they affectionately called “our office without walls” — where they continued to meet and connect several times each month.)

**This will be a potluck gathering, so please feel free to bring something to share. Any leftover food will be donated to a local shelter.

Let’s Travel team will provide plates, napkins, utensils, water, set-up tables, and a limited number of chairs.
**If you have one, please also bring a lawn or beach chair for yourself
***Since we will be near the ocean, it is recommended to bring a sweater or light jacket.
( although the weather forecast say warm & sunny )

Following a fast TGV ride from Paris , we settled in the beautiful @la_mirande *****
Located across from the impressive Palais des Papes which we visited that evening prior to enjoy an exquisite dinner on property-
The next day, we were treated to a private guided walking Tour.. in the old city .. full of history .. and a great lunch ..
