Primitivo García, a damiana wildcrafter and nursery owner, led us through the mountains of Todos Santos, Baja California Sur, MX, in search of wild damiana.

Damiana, one of the 6 ingredients in UPLIFT, is similar to the popular medicinal herb ashwagandha, as they are both adaptogens, capable of lowering stress when taken regularly.

The motivation behind @medicinalplantindex is to understand not just the physical properties and benefits of medicinal plants, but also the cultural context that surrounds them.

I’ve been laying real low for almost 2 years now, working tirelessly to bring a simple inspired idea to life. I’m humbled to have made it this far.

Today I introduce @medicinalplantindex (MPI), a platform for our communities to connect with medicinal plant knowledge.

Fueled by a deep desire to focus on health using the knowledge and insight of our ancestors, I am excited to introduce a line of herbal offerings - the first of which is UPLIFT, a supplement designed to help with everyday mood enhancement and stress response.

I’m grateful for the opportunity to share this knowledge + the potential of these herbs, in the spirit of community and wellbeing 🙏🏾 by @travisgumbs
