So proud of the students I have been working with at Ensworth Film Studio. They won a student Emmy! (student production award), tied for the director category. They will now be entered in the national competition! Their art heist movie “In Plain Site” was so much fun. We hope to hit the film festival circuit next. Great Job guys! by @travishistory

Ring the 🔔 and you'll get a reminder when it airs. If you have been following me at all you probably know that for the last 8 years i've been working on this project called MORSE CODE. It began in 2o17 when I wrote a short scene about a dad trying to connect to his tween-age daughter over ice cream. I wrote a little intro and outro, thinking that if it was successful then maybe I'd do it again and continue the story. I cast the other characters, found a location (thank you @golly.gs in Pleasantview TN) and hired the DP and crew with money from my super lucrative folk singing career.I edited the thing - video and audio -and my friends @pantslauer and @kriskrisdonegan made the score. We premiered it at the @basementnash and we all watched it together. Probably 30 people worked on that little film, and after 20+ years of touring under my own name the feeling of collaborating with many other people to realize a collective vision was, honestly, life-changing. I was getting a little sick of myself and making that movie felt like the antidote. I made 3 more short webisodes with some really talented people including Kenneth from the @themilkcartonkids and @deanshortland and @theoliviaevans and then I quit because my little sister suddenly died and I realized that this thing I was obsessed with didn't really matter that much. I moved back west for awhile and quit the music business. Quit everything and worked on a ranch. Eventually I came back to Nashville because, well all my stuff is here, and somehow the momentum got going again. A talented filmmaker named @mollmaud introduced me to some people who eventually connected me with @travishistory. I'll never forget the day we met. It was at @thebrownsdiner over on Blair, we talked for 3 minutes and I had this very strange feeling that we were absolutely going to work together. (continued in comments) by @travishistory
