It had been a hot minute since I let Travis stab me, so I was super stoked when we worked out a game plan for this gem here.

I present to you...Baba Yaga's hut (or as Trav calls it, the "yaba daba house" 🤣) Baba Yaga is a powerful and mysterious witch from Slavic folklore, known for her shifting role as both a fearsome antagonist and a wise, unpredictable guide. She lives in a magical hut that stands on chicken legs. Characters often visit Baba Yaga’s hut seeking wisdom, assistance, or magical items. The journey to her abode is fraught with challenges, testing the hero’s resolve and character.

It has been increasingly challenging over the last 2-3 years adapting to this "new normal" in my life regarding my chronic HSD/hEDS symptoms, especially coming to terms with the fact that most of my reasons for getting out of bed cause me unimaginable long-term pain and fatigue, but I refuse to let it turn me into a miserable, bitter person who puts her life on hold.

As someone who used to be able to sit for a tattoo for 6-8 hours running on 4 hours of sleep, nicotine, and iced coffee without breaking a sweat, I now struggle to get through more than 2-3 hours at a time (on a good day). Needless to say, this was a long, agonizing 8-hour process for me, but Trav was super patient and supportive and cheered me on the whole time. & though my body has been paying the price for the last 2 days, my mental health R E A L L Y needed this. I laughed, I almost cried, & I might have wanted to flip a table a few times, but we got through it and we had a fucking blast. Can't wait for the next one! #notideal #iykyk taken in The Tattoo Shoppe by @travisjohnson_itm
