Watching you hero, your mentor, your dad during his last days on earth is truly humbling. He’s not gone yet but I’ve said my goodbyes already as he’s largely been out of it and headed towards unconsciousness. As I sat at his bedside and asked him, “How am I going to do this without you?” I sobbed as he told me, “You’re a smart guy, you’ll figure it out”. I was reminded of the faith and belief he has always had in me. It’s going to be hard without him but I’ll try and always remember how much he believes in me. by @travturner22

A new Christmas Eve tradition. The weather was so warm here that we had a fire in the fire pit. Little man found some leftover sparklers and then we talked about shepherds who were probably sitting around a fire millennia ago listening to a heavenly messenger. #TheGreatestGift by @travturner22

I’m so proud of this kid. Beck has a couple of good friends in middle school who are part of the SpEd program. Last night Beck told me of something that happened at school that day… he’s the unofficial peer tutor for one kid in his Foods class and after class his buddy told him that he was tired and asked Beck carry him back to his classroom. So my gigantic 6’5” 15 year old scooped up his 4’8” friend in his arms and carried him all the way back to his classroom. Beck’s heart is as big as his stature. I sure wish I could have seen that scene as we walked down the hall. I love my guy and cannot wait to see who he becomes! by @travturner22

Tonight we’re saying goodbye to Cooper and I’m absolutely gutted. Coop has been with me longer than any of my kids. We’ve done so many fun things together. Can’t wait until he can go chase a tennis ball until he collapses again once he crosses that rainbow bridge. It’s been too long since you’ve been able to do what you truly loved to do. I don’t know when the ugly sobbing will stop but I hope I never stop thinking about you Coop. You truly are man’s best friend. by @travturner22

I tracked down the same model of glove that dad used in high school and re-laced and reconditioned it and gave it to him for Father’s Day. We played catch today for the first time in a long time. The smile on his face said it all. He talked about all the memories that came flooding back to him. He’s been a constant for me over the years. A beacon of hope, service, and great attitude in the face of adversity. Don’t know how many more Father’s Days that I’ll have with him, but this one will stand out as one of the best! by @travturner22

14 years! When we went out to celebrate tonight Karlee asked me what advice I would give someone getting married after having had 14 years of experience. I thought for a bit and replied, “it’s going to be harder than you ever thought it was going to be but it is so, so worth it. It takes work and don’t shy away from it”. Thank you Karlee for the best years of my and for being the one that I can always make laugh. by @travturner22
