Can we pause here for a moment to appreciate this quilt that was rescued from under a sofa that was destined for the landfill. It is very rough feeling and has like spots, big ones from water marks, holes and the batting inside is rumpled up.
My dad asked a few weeks for a coat of many colors but as PJ Pants.
My first technical class was by Miss Jane at @the.sewing.studio
I reference my sewing notebook often and sew thankful for her expertise and patience.
The PJ Pants are almost done just the waist band, I was sew excited I had to run outside before the sun went down.
My dad is not on any socials sew if you see this please give him a heart, him and my mom have supported my adventures since I was first called Sweet Allison. Their visits with us in the mountains are very special and filled with laughs, hugs and good food.
Xoxo

Hot off the press
I have come a long long way
Conquered imposter syndrome kinda
I was in need of this big win for my soul.
Life changes in a flash and if you see someone looking down say hello, you don't have to stop and have a full blown conversation just hello will do
Hold the door for someone
Look at old photos
Write your name 10x with your opposite hand
Read one chapter
Drink more water
Eat a good snack with no meat
Drive with the windows down
Walk outside barefoot
Write your grocery list instead of electronic note
If you are reading this I thank you kindly.
With all my heart thank you for supporting me by being here.

See ya on the flip side

Blue Bell had a front end alignment, drove into town to give some vintage dresses to a friend. Rides smooth, feels good to have a side window propped open.
Jumpsuit was cut out last summer '25 and sewed together by
@desertdrifterco Carlie will schedule a class at her she shed if you want to make some yourself.

Photography has always been my passion, so this week charging up the batteries, dusting off the backpack. Looking forward to a drive along the Blue Ridge Parkway. Mom & Dad will be here for a visit.

Wild Banshee Woman
Today while photographing the mens shirts I have rescued our Wild Banshee Woman has been making her squawking sounds almost like a child walking through the wood yodeling but without the long drawn pitches, is best I can explain it.
She is part of the mountain and has appeared to GrandBubba and I are 3 years ago on the side of road one morning. That is a story for another day.
Today the dump trucks are stirring her up and she is very active, the crows are moving around in circles and all hyped up.
Finally have decided to clean out some space in the hobby room, parents will be here soon so progress must be made.
As I am typing this the wind chimes pick up and faintly whispers up the mountain trickle down. Me thinks she has something to tell me so I sit here quietly and listen. by @traywickmade

Rescue in progress in real time no edits please stay the full two mins, you will have an addiction to reuse, rewear, redo, remake and repurpose.

For over 40 years I have flea market, thrifted, estate sale and begged from co-workers quilt projects to rescue, in a preservation effort.

There is a high while standing in line, finding something on back of table or on floors of closets.

Coming down after a trip, you need water, snacks and rest.
Thursdays are one of my favorite days of the week.

I swear #HUSKY did NOT research their customer data base peeps at all. The drawer will not close due to a bar in the middle. It needs to be 1.5 inches taller. Like seriously now what am I going to do. I am suppose to be cleaning not worrying about where to store the thread, ugh
