Waves of Ability is about so much more than one event — it’s about bringing together incredible people and organizations who believe in inclusion, connection, and creating more opportunities for everyone. 🌊💙

A huge thank you to Niko, a @triumphfoundation ambassador, for coming out to Waves of Ability and hosting pickleball with us! 🏓♿️

We snapped this photo together at the Therapeutic Riding Center HB booth — another amazing organization that joined us for the day and helped show just how many different ways adaptive recreation, connection, and community can change lives. 🐴💙

We loved watching Niko make his way around the event, meeting the incredible groups and vendors who helped bring Waves of Ability to life.

And to every adaptive sports organization, wellness provider, community partner, vendor, volunteer, performer, sponsor, and supporter who showed up — THANK YOU. This day was special because all of you brought your own piece of the community together in one place.

Volunteer of the Session: Marita 🐴💙

This session, we’re excited to recognize Marita in Huntington Beach for her positivity, dedication, and the genuine care she brings to TRC each week.

Marita is always willing to jump in, work hard, and learn something new. Whether she’s helping with lessons, supporting fellow volunteers, or spending time with our horses, she approaches everything with enthusiasm and a smile.

One of the things that makes Marita so special is the wonderful connection she has built with our students. She is encouraging, kind, and always helps create a welcoming environment where riders feel supported and celebrated.

In her own words, TRC has become a place where she feels at home—and we feel incredibly lucky to have her as part of our TRC family. Her positive attitude, willingness to learn, and joy for helping others make a lasting impact on everyone around her.

We’re excited to recognize Edna Moreno as our Long Beach Volunteer of the Session!

Edna joined TRC shortly after we opened our Long Beach location and has quickly become an invaluable member of our team. Whether she’s leading horses, side walking in lessons, helping with property improvement projects, or jumping in wherever an extra set of hands is needed, Edna is always ready to help with a smile.

Her reliability, positive attitude, and willingness to do whatever is needed have made a tremendous impact on our program. Volunteers like Edna help make it possible for us to serve our riders and care for our horses each and every day.

🥵🐴 Olaf’s HR report is in…

Due to the recent heat wave, Olaf has decided he’s officially over it.

Between the soaring temperatures and humidity, he’s been focusing on staying cool, getting plenty of rest, and waiting patiently for cooler days ahead. 😂

We’re grateful for everyone’s understanding as we’ve adjusted lessons to keep our riders, volunteers, and horses safe during this stretch of hot weather.

While part of Elvenstar Orange County was competing in Los Angeles last week, trainer Dustin Cossaboom was busy judging the Therapeutic Riding Center (TRC) horse show at our home facility, Huntington Central Park Equestrian Center. ✨

The TRC is a community-focused non-profit that offers specialized horse riding therapy for individuals with diverse physical and developmental needs.

Dustin enjoys learning and growing as a judge and as a trainer. It’s beneficial to our clients to learn from a trainer with their judge’s card to further understand the dimensions of competing. 📝

We are grateful for the opportunity to give back to this wonderful nonprofit, and we are so proud of our team member Dustin for showing his support.

What an incredible day at our Beach Series EAH — Exceptional Abilities Horse Show! 🏆🐴

Our hearts are so full as we reflect on a day spent celebrating the courage, determination, growth, and accomplishments of our amazing riders. We are endlessly proud of each and every student who entered the arena and gave it their all. The confidence, perseverance, and joy displayed throughout the day are exactly why we do what we do. 💚

To our riders: congratulations! Your hard work, sportsmanship, and love for your horses inspired everyone who had the privilege of watching. You should be incredibly proud of yourselves.

Thank you to all of the families, friends, volunteers, and community members who attended and cheered on our students. Your encouragement means the world.

A special thank you to @faustostacos and @konaice for keeping everyone well-fed and refreshed throughout the day. 🌮🍧

We are also deeply grateful to our incredible team of volunteers, board members, Program Director Kirsten, and instructors Donna, Brooke, Hailee & Gina. Events like this simply wouldn’t be possible without your dedication, hard work, and countless hours behind the scenes.

There’s just something about mini horses that melts your heart. 🥹🐴

The other day I stopped by my beautiful friend Gina’s stables and had the joy of meeting two adorable minis, Snoopy and Lefty. They’re part of a therapeutic riding center that brings so much happiness and healing to children and adults with disabilities. 🥹

I have to admit… Snoopy completely stole my heart. 🤍🐴 There was something so gentle and sweet about him. Lefty wasn’t too sure about me,haha hence the ears pinned back!!

🐴💰 We had a successful SaddleUP for Success field trip yesterday!

Our SteppingUP students started the day with an interactive financial workshop before heading to the Huntington Central Park Equestrian Center (HCPEC), where they had the opportunity to see some amazing horses and learn their stories. 🐎

A huge thank you to the Therapeutic Riding Center of Huntington Beach (TRCHB) and Gina for giving us a tour of the facility and telling us more about the amazing work they do. We are so grateful for the opportunity and for creating such a fun and memorable experience for our students. 💙 by @trchb

The secret is out! 🚨

Meet the newest members of the TRC family: Lefty and Snoopy! 🐴🐴

Lefty is a leopard Appaloosa with plenty of personality, and Snoopy is a Medicine Hat with two striking blue eyes. We couldn’t be more excited to welcome these two miniature horses to our herd.

While they may be small in size, they’ll have a big impact on our programs. Lefty and Snoopy will help support our unmounted equine learning program, mental health groups, and community outreach efforts—giving even more people the opportunity to experience the magic of horses.
