“don’t you know that you are loved? an ode to black children”

my final piece for my ceramics class. to black youth. to the black children born into slavery. to the black children who never got to be children. to the black children who never got to be themselves. to the black children whose innocence were stripped away from them. to the black children demonized. to the black children who knew pain too soon. you are loved. you are sweet. you are kind. you are beautiful. you are worthy.

i’ve been working on making “dolls” in my work focusing mainly on old black dolls/voodoo dolls. more to come….. by @treefrogceramics
