A day in the weekend life of Liz. Tennis match and pumpkin fest remains, #damriscottapumpkinfest. They are troopers!! Margo needed to swim. Finally I found a stick. Do you see that picture of what looks@like half concrete half water? Margo is in that pic. Can you see her? Also, in the video I used the cue “wait” twice. Very handy. Also, my partner and I won our match:) and our team won both sets of matches for a strong start to the 55+ season. by @treefrogfarmdog

I met a kind man and his dog at an open house I was invited to have a table at today. He told me about the training journey he had taken with his dog thus far. He appeared sad because the journey he took was of someone training his dog and then he learned what was trained a couple of days later. He regrets not taking classes with his dog, where he was the learner alongside the puppy. It’s a convenient model for a busy lifestyle. However, this gentleman felt like he missed out on something important in his relationship building with his sociable pup. All is not lost and training is a journey. I’m not sure if this is the case but, we reach for what is easy. Sometimes easy is not the best option. It was easy to segue to the next class too, which he regrets. I sure hope we see them at TFF. Enlightening and empowering training is ahead for this team. This gentleman has a wonderful vision of what he would like to do with his pup and I think she is a likely candidate for this goal. Dog is not pictured:) though he is a love bug and such a good boy:) by @treefrogfarmdog

Lots of ups and downs, elevation-wise, and walkways on this walk. It’s also well marked. Bonus swimming at the end, as long as the tide is medium to high and your dog is agile enough to hop up on the bank. #perfectfitharness #chuckitbumper #letadogbeadog by @treefrogfarmdog

Oh boy. It was a weekend of highs and lows. Training is a process. I know, I always say that. This run was my keep going signal, the one run that brought that surge of excitement, knowing that things can come together. Saturday was filled with connection and some foibles and a lot of hope for Sunday. Sunday started out ruff (rough). I shook it off and became more of a handler: More insistent, more focused, more connection. I took “only one can be a shit show” to heart. We both stress up. For this run, I had a plan and knew it well. Thank you to all of my agility friends for being so supportive. This journey is filled with learning moments. I learn from your feedback and from watching your runs. I have a dog so driven by movement and obstacles. I strive to become a better handler for her. Margo is not a “school pony” like Peeper was, but, like Peeper, she has mad skills. I look forward to coming together as a team. Thank you Riverside UKI for another great trial. Here’s to many more. Pippi brought a puppy out of her shell yesterday. This is such a sweet puppy!!!! This family is doing the hybrid package: two private lessons plus a class. They’ve had this pup for four days. I am seeing an increase in puppy class enrollment and people bringing their adult dogs in for a tune up. I am thrilled to see this trend. #puppytrainingclass by @treefrogfarmdog
