You can be the most beautiful rose, but if someone prefers lilies, it does not lessen your worth or beauty.

Freddie Mercury has been such a light in the darkness for me. ❤️

When I discovered Queen, I was going through a difficult time with anxiety and depression. But then, when I put on a Queen song and heard Freddie’s voice, I somehow felt calmer. His voice brought me so much comfort and happiness when I needed it most.

The more I learned about Freddie, the more I connected with the person behind the incredible performer. On stage he was flamboyant, fearless and completely mesmerising, but he was also such a kind, sweet and gentle soul. I loved his passion for opera, his fascination with Japan, his love of animals, especially his beloved cats. ❤️
I was born in the year Freddie died, so sadly I never got to see him live — something I’ve always wished I could have experienced.
Of course, I know I never met Freddie and didn’t know him personally, but his music has always made me feel really connected to him and to the person he was.

And yes, I’m probably a slightly crazy Freddie fan! 😂❤️ I’m so lucky my family have always understood how much he means to me and have happily added plenty of Queen and Freddie gifts to my collection over the years.
While I’m sitting here writing this, I’m actually in tears. But I know Freddie has never really left us. His voice, his music and everything he gave the world will live on forever. ❤️

Happy 80th birthday, Freddie. 👑❤️
