Does your baby always seem to look in the same direction? Or maybe you’ve noticed they struggle to turn their head one way, have a slight head tilt, or prefer nursing on one side? You might be noticing signs of torticollis, and it’s something many parents don’t even realize has a name! Torticollis happens when the muscles in your baby’s neck become tight or shortened, making it harder for them to comfortably turn their head in both directions. And it’s not always just about how they’re holding their head. That tightness can also affect: ✨ Feeding on one side ✨ Tummy time ✨ Head shape ✨ Comfortable movement ✨ Motor development The good news? Early recognition and the right support can make a big difference! At Tree of Life Chiropractic, we love helping parents better understand their baby’s movement, comfort, and development. Our pediatric approach is gentle and individualized, and we believe in working alongside other providers to make sure little ones get the care they need. Mama, if you’ve been noticing your baby favoring one side, don’t just wait and hope they grow out of it. We’re here to listen, answer your questions, and help you find the right next step. You’ve probably seen us talk about our INSiGHT scans, but do you know what they actually measure? 🧠 At Tree of Life, we don’t just want to know WHAT you’re experiencing. We want to gather more information about how your body is functioning, too! That’s why we use 3 different scans to help us better understand patterns related to your nervous system. 🌡️ NEUROTHERMAL SCAN Measures temperature differences along either side of your spine. These patterns give our docs additional information to consider when assessing your nervous system. 💪 NEUROSPINAL sEMG SCAN Measures electrical activity in the muscles along your spine. This helps us identify patterns of muscle activity, including areas that may be working harder than others. ❤️ HEART RATE VARIABILITY (HRV) Measures the variation in time between heartbeats, giving us insight into autonomic nervous system activity and how your body is responding to stress. But here’s something we LOVE about these scans… We don’t just scan you once and call it a day! Throughout your care, we continue to re-scan so we can compare measurements over time, look for changes in patterns, and use that information alongside your symptoms, health history, and exam findings. And for all our parents and pregnant mamas wondering… YES! These scans are gentle, non-invasive, and safe for babies, kiddos, and pregnant mamas! 🤍 Because at Tree of Life, we believe understanding what’s happening in your body is an important part of creating care that’s specific to YOU. Curious what YOUR scans might show? 📍 Tree of Life Chiropractic | Rochester, NY 🔗 Click the link in our bio to get started! by @treeoflife_roc

When should I get my baby checked?” As soon as possible. Your baby’s first year is the most neurologically active time of their entire life. Their brain is forming 1 million neural connections PER SECOND. Their nervous system is learning how to regulate everything: digestion, sleep, immune response, movement, emotional regulation. But birth (even the “easy” ones) is incredibly physical. The pressure, pulling, twisting, and compression that happens during delivery can create tension and imbalances in your baby’s delicate spine, especially in the upper neck. This interference can show up as: -Colic and excessive crying -Difficulty latching or nursing on one side -Torticollis (head tilting/preference) -Reflux and digestive issues -Sleep struggles -Developmental delays in rolling, crawling, sitting When we check babies (as early as hours or days old), we’re not “fixing” them. We’re removing any interference in their nervous system so their body can develop, heal, and grow the way it’s meant to. Gentle, specific adjustments support: ✨ Proper brain-body communication ✨ Optimal digestion and sleep ✨ Immune system development ✨ Motor skill progression ✨ Emotional regulation The earlier you support your baby’s nervous system, the stronger their foundation for lifelong health. Your baby’s nervous system is their lifeline. Make sure it’s functioning at 100% from day one. Schedule your newborn’s first check. We make it gentle, quick, and stress-free for your whole family. Just because baby is here doesn’t mean your body is done needing support. 🤍 Think about it… For 9 months, your body has been constantly changing to grow and carry your baby. Your posture shifted, your center of gravity changed, and your muscles and joints adapted along the way. And then you give birth. But those changes don’t just disappear overnight. Now your body is recovering from delivery while you’re feeding, rocking, lifting, carrying, and probably getting a whole lot less sleep. It’s a completely new season of physical demands on your body. And that’s something we wish more moms thought about BEFORE their baby arrives. At Tree of Life, we don’t see prenatal chiropractic care as something that has to end at delivery. We love continuing to support moms through postpartum, especially as they navigate new aches, tension, and changes in how their bodies feel and move. Because your baby isn’t the only one who deserves to be cared for after birth. Mama, you matter too. 🤍 So if you’ve been getting adjusted throughout your pregnancy, don’t forget to talk with us about what care could look like after baby arrives. 📍Pediatric and prenatal chiropractors serving families in Rochester, NY by @treeoflife_roc

Sometimes all you need is a little adjustment to brighten your day! 🌈✨ Less tension, more movement, feeling better in your body, and maybe even a little extra pep in your step! But around here, it’s more than just getting adjusted. It’s the smiling faces, little giggles, conversations, connections, and getting to watch families grow and thrive. We hope every time you walk through our doors, you leave feeling a little better and your day a little brighter than when you came in💛 Just another day at Tree of Life Chiropractic serving families in Rochester, NY🌳 by @treeoflife_roc
You just found out your baby is breech, and suddenly you’re Googling EVERYTHING you can to see if there’s still a chance they’ll turn before birth. Mama, we know how much you might be hoping for that head-down position, especially if your birth plan is starting to look different than you imagined. And maybe you’ve come across something called the Webster Technique. So let’s talk about it. 🌿 First, chiropractors don’t turn breech babies. That’s not what we do! The Webster Technique is a specialized chiropractic approach that focuses on the alignment and biomechanics of the pelvis, sacrum, and surrounding muscles and ligaments. Think about how much your body changes throughout pregnancy. Your center of gravity shifts, your posture changes, and your muscles and ligaments are constantly adapting to support your growing baby. Sometimes, those changes can contribute to tension and discomfort throughout your pelvis and lower back. That’s where Webster-certified chiropractic care comes in! Through gentle, specific adjustments, we work to address pelvic and sacral dysfunction and support your body’s comfort and movement throughout pregnancy. This in turn can help support and provide space for baby to turn on their own. And mama, whether you’re 30 weeks or approaching your due date, it’s not necessarily too late to start prenatal chiropractic care! At Tree of Life, Drs. Carl and Chelsea are Webster Certified, and we love being part of a mama’s support team through pregnancy, birth preparation, and postpartum recovery. Because your body deserves care, too. 🤍 Have a breech baby or nearing your due date? DM us BREECH. We’d love to talk about how we can support you! 📍 Tree of Life Chiropractic | Rochester, NY by @treeoflife_roc
