We sure do love being epic and dramatic!
That's why we celebrated the end of the 3rd season of Café voor Schone Kunsten with an unforgettable concert by Le Cirque Constance during our latest opening night!

What a way to close this chapter. The energy in the room was unmatched! We sang, we danced, and we celebrated the incredible community that has grown around this project. Seeing everyone come together to wrap up the season with so much joy and rhythm was the perfect reflection of what Ork Ork Ork is all about: bringing art and people into a shared, living experience.

Thank you to Le Cirque Constance for the magic, to the artists who made this season beautiful, and to every single one of you who joined the dance. Cheers to the art, the music, and the community. See you next season!

Openingsstoet
Vr 17 juli – Sint-Jacobs en Vlasmarkt

Een stoet zou niets waard zijn zonder zijn voorgangers, muzikanten, majoretten, zij-instromers, meelopers en achterkomerkes. Zonder volk geen stoet, zonder stoet geen opening van de Gentse Feesten. We hebben u dus nodig.

De stoeten ontspringen in het Begijnhofdriespark, het Kapitein Zeppospark en het Keizerspark om 16u30 en monden uit bij Walter De Buckplein, Vlasmarkt en Baudelopark rond 17u45. Om 18u verklaart de Belleman de Feesten officieel voor geopend!

"GEITENVEL speelt ‘Struikroverpunk’, gevormd door vier simpelgezinde GEKKEN; geïnspireerd door een mix van ruige post-punk, kleinkunst, de Lof der Zotheid en niet te vergeten… Asterix & Obelix!

GEITENVEL is LUID, ONBESCHAAMD en brengt SPEKTAKEL naar iedereen die het aandurft!!!

Wees echter gewaarschuwd: 1 op 4 toeschouwers verlaat de zaal met een tropische ziekte. We heten geïnteresseerden van harte welgekomen in ons schouwspel.

Afgelopen nacht kreeg de Amerikaanse geschiedenis een slag in haar gezicht waar zij nog jaren ijs op zal moeten leggen. We nemen met Trefpunt dan ook onze voorzorgsmaatregelen tegen Amerikaanse represailles. De ramen worden beschermd en de boel wordt gebarricadeerd. Niet uit angst, maar uit gezond verstand. Duister en funky. Psychedelisch en bezwerend. Mysterieus en ongrijpbaar. De muziek van Helmand is als een wormgat naar een eigenzinnig universum. Doordrongen van sfeer en kosmische sounds, wervelen de nummers van deze Gentse band zich doorheen je lijf en leden.

Ethio. Prog. Desert. Psych. Kraut. Library. Helmand on stage is een beetje als een zwart gat waarin al deze invloeden exploderen tot een energieke, hypnotiserende en intrigerende liveshow...

Looking back at our May residency showcase with Stef Van Boven.

For three intensive months, Stef turned our space into a playground for radical experimentation. As an illustrator with dyslexia, he used his primary language of visual art to confront the restrictive nature of the written word.

By stripping away conventional meanings and focusing entirely on geometric shapes, rich textures, and vibrant colors, Stef broke text down until it merged with his own visual tongue. These photos document that journey—a transformation of linguistic restriction into a liberating visual landscape at Café Trefpunt.

At the heart of our collective lies the belief that art needs time, space, and a community to truly breathe. This philosophy came to life beautifully during Stef Van Boven’s three-month residency with us. For three intensive months, @trefpunt_gent attic became Stef’s studio and a testing ground for a deeply personal artistic search. As an illustrator with dyslexia, Stef has always felt a profound distance from written text, experiencing it not as a natural tool for communication, but as something arbitrary, rigid, and often restrictive. To navigate this, his residency became a dedicated period of radical experimentation, where he used his primary language of visual art to confront the "word" head-on.

Behind the scenes of this three-month residency, Stef stripped away the conventional meanings of text to focus entirely on its physical and visual qualities. He spent his days exploring geometric shapes, rich textures, and vibrant colors, slowly breaking text down until it merged with his own visual tongue. It was a rigorous process of transforming a source of linguistic restriction into a liberating visual landscape. The culmination of this intense creative residency was later shared with the public in a month-long exhibition from May 1st to May 30th, serving as a powerful documentation of a journey where the written word was completely opened up, reclaimed, and reimagined. by @trefpunt_gent

Terug een avondvullend programma verspreid over 4 zalen, knetterend van ideeën.

En we trekken ook terug naar de Gentse vrijhaven @trefpunt_gent op donderdag 30 september, voor een intieme voorproeversavond in een heel andere sfeer: losjes, ongedwongen, in de warme ambiance van het café.

Gisteren kreeg ik deze affiche mijn mailbox. Sindsdien zit ik met een hit uit 1961 opgescheept die weigert mijn hoofd te verlaten. Bye, Bye, Baby (Baby Goodbyeeeee)

Wat een Amerikaanse popgroep uit de sixties precies te maken heeft met de makers van Bye Bye Bühne? Geen flauw idee.

Eén ding weet ik wel: donderdag katapulteert BYE BYE BÜHNE opnieuw een hoop jonge acteurs en theatermakers recht tussen uw glazen en barkrukken. Verwacht verse probeersels, absurde kortvoorstellingen, punktoneel en momenten waarop ge u afvraagt: “Ben ik nu publiek of deel van de scène?” Antwoord: waarschijnlijk allebei.

Gisteren verzamelden we in Bar Edward voor een van de moeilijkste opdrachten van het jaar: doen alsof we al maanden niet stonden te popelen om over ons programma te vertellen.

Over de 55ste editie van Trefpunt Festival. Over muziek, circus, literatuur, debat, vuur, ontmoeting en andere uitstekende redenen om deze zomer uw slaapritme definitief naar de vaantjes te helpen.

Merci aan iedereen die gisteren naar Bar Edward afzakte. Aan de luisteraars, de vragenstellers, de nieuwsgierigen en de mensen die vooral voor de receptie kwamen. We zien u binnenkort terug.

Emilie Mover is een singer-songwriter afkomstig uit New York en Toronto, bekend om haar unieke mix van de eenvoud van folk en klassieke country met de complexe harmonieën van jazz. De authentieke, ingetogen stijl van deze dochter van gerenommeerd saxofonist Bob Mover leverde haar een internationale fanbase op.
