What happens when a Scottish giant challenges an Irish giant to a fight? 💪 Listen to the new version of "Island Hopping" on the @wildforscotland podcast and find out! A few years ago, I went on an island hopping day trip with @staffa_tours and wrote a story about it - a story which eventually became the first episode of the podcast! Now - five years & many hours of audio production later - @frantic.tea and I re-did that episode with new story elements and updates soundscapes. It's like a brand-new story and I'm so proud to share it with you 🫰 #WildForScotland #Scotland #ScottishPodcast #Staffa #TravelScotland by @tremulanetwork
Twelve months ago, I set out to answer a question I’m asked all the time - “What’s the best time to visit Scotland?” But rather than trying to offer one straight-forward answer, I decided to write twelve, long-winded answers and show that each month and every season carries its own magic within. "A Year in Scotland", season 7 of @wildforscotland, was born - and now it's complete! 🌱 🌸 🍂 ❄️ I'm filled with so much pride: I wrote 12 stories that I love, about old and new adventures. I let the podcast inspire the stories I told on tour with guests, and vice versa, I explored topics I covered on the coach in longer stories for the podcast. @frantic.tea from @tremulanetwork created some excellent soundscapes, and I finally started filling some geographical gaps on the episode map (which you can find on the podcast website). I am particularly proud that we managed to publish an episode each month, even though it was difficult at times - especially during the summer months when I spent so much time on the road. But I persisted and I hope you enjoyed listening to these twelve stories as much as I enjoyed producing them. If you missed one, why not listen to it today!?! #WildForScotland #ScotlandPodcast #ScottishPodcast #Scotland #TravelScotland by @tremulanetwork
We love stars (and more importantly, @southdownsnp annual Dark Skies Festival) ✨ With @tremulanetwork this past weekend, we documented the Dark Skies event at Amberley Museum. We had an intro to astrophotography, storytelling in the stars, and telescopes up to the (thankfully) clear skies. This year is the 10th (!!!) anniversary of park’s Dark Sky Reserve designation. If you want to see lots and lots of stars, Sussex is the place to be. And if you want to learn more about nature and the night, listen to ‘Embrace The Darkness’ 🌓 by @tremulanetwork
Join me on a journey to the wintery lochs and glens of Argyll, and come along for a walk through a changing forest... We see the sunrise over one of Scotland's most iconic lochs, enjoy breakfast by a castle ruin and climb across icy rivers in narrow glens, out of reach of the low-standing winter sun ❄️ Listen to 'A Winter's Morning' wherever you get your podcasts! #WildForScotland #ScottishPodcast #WinterInScotland #TravelScotland #ScotlandPodcast by @tremulanetwork
I’ve been very busy - since October, I’ve been working at the Acting Managing Director of @contentisqueenhq and our team have been working hard on the return of an event that has been very influential on my career. I want to see you at the International Women’s Podcast Festival next month! Here’s why: It’s been too long! I haven’t been to a big audio event in a while (except Tremula Festival that is) and I want to catch up! You’ll learn a lot from: - All the practical sessions - Global talks and workshops - Truly unique panels It’s worth the cost. Times are tight so we’ve kept ticket prices the same as in 2024. That’s less than: - I spent in a single day working in London last week (2 coffees, lunch, and a drink after work. You get all these included at the International Women’s Podcast Festival) -OR a year of [insert generic streaming service of your choice] - Seriously, it’s even less than Nearly every other audio industry event. (No shade. Okay a little shade.) You’ll meet new people. I attended the 2022 festival not knowing many people. Now I’m part of the festival team. Where might you be in 2030? The audio industry needs to change and a lot of the change makers will be in that room on 5th March. So - International Women’s Podcast Festival 2026 - see you there? Ticket link in bio :D by @tremulanetwork
Have you heard of Tam o' Shanter? It's only one of the most famous pieces of Scottish literature 😅 This week on the @wildforscotland podcast, I follow the footsteps of Robert Burns as I explore his birthplace in Alloway, and the locations & characters he immortalised in his famous poems. We visit the @robertburnsnts birthplace cottage and wander along the Poet's Path to Alloway Kirk... A perfect adventure to get in the mood for Burns Night! 🥃 Listen now, wherever you get your podcasts! #WildForScotland #Scotland #RobertBurns #SouthScotland #ScotlandStartsHere by @tremulanetwork
This is her time ❄️ Beira is an ancient deity. The creator goddess of Scotland and the Ruler of Winter... In this week's episode of @wildforscotland, I share her story, along with a few more folktales, myths and traditions connected with winter in Scotland. Listen now, wherever you get your podcasts! #WildForScotland #Scotland #ScottishPodcast #ScotlandPodcast #TravelScotland by @tremulanetwork
Last June, I spent an hour quizzing Bressay-based Chris Dyer from @garthscroftbressay about all things Shetland archaeology, Vikings, crofting and heritage sheep breeds - and now it's time to share that conversation with you! This interview was recorded at a Wild for Scotland Social Club Session - these exclusive sessions are a perk created for my Patreon members, and happen four times a year. Join the Club now to be at the next session! #WildForScotland #ScotlandPodcast #Shetland by @tremulanetwork
I've got something a little different for you today - an urban adventure to the streets, sands and river pathways of Aberdeen 🎡 We're relaxing by the waterfront, exploring historic villages nestled within the industrial city, and chasing the colours of the season... Join me on this tour of Aberdeen and listen to our latest @wildforscotland episode wherever you get your podcasts! #WildForScotland #Scotland #ScotlandPodcast #ScottishPodcast #TravelScotland #LoveScotland #Aberdeen ##ScotlandIsCalling by @tremulanetwork
We love the Scottish Highlands for its overwhelming natural beauty - and that's okay! But it's important to see, that it's not "just" about pretty scenery... My conversation with Will Sadler from Anya Media and Fiona Mackenzie from @strathnaver_museum dives deep into the way we talk about the Highlands as podcasters and storytellers. We talk about the making of "Highlands Reimagined" and hear what impact we as visitors can have on locals who live in Scotland's rural areas. Listen now, wherever you get your podcasts! #WildForScotland #Scotland #ScottishPodcast #ScotlandPodcast #ScottishHighlands #TravelScotland #ScotlandIsCalling by @tremulanetwork
They attacked just after sunset... ⚔️ This month's episode takes us to Perthshire - the steep slopes of the Pass of Killiecrankie to be exact! We follow the trail from @killiecrankievisitorscafe to "Soldier's Leap" and learn about the fate of one (presumably) long-legged Redcoat soldier named Donald McBane... Perthshire in autumn is all about the colourful woodlands, but historic sites like @nationaltrustforscotland's Killiecrankie make this a year-round region for your Scotland itinerary! Listen to 'There's nothing quite like it' wherever you get your podcasts! #WildForScotland #Scotland #Perthshire #TravelScotland #OnlyInScotland #LoveScotland #ScotlandPodcast #ScottishPodcast #ForTheLoveOfScotland by @tremulanetwork
