Flipping INSANE !! I feel like all ive done for the last couple of weeks is travel, party and do flips off high objects. Through the highs and lows, im truly greatful for living this high pace lifestyle! Even if it means sleeping in hail or falling off cliffs.... ALSO THE OLD GURL HIT 250,000km - HAPPY BDAY U GOOD THING by @trentsparkes
OFF THE TOP ROPES!! Jumping back into the south west, where the waves are dreamy and the people are bloody gorgeous. An incredible few weeks working / hanging out with some very talented individuals, trotting my way down the coastline camera in hand and mates by my side. One of my favourite jumps in the south, Gannet Rock (1). A beautiful cruisy little hit of adrenaline. At the top, a stunning view of the reefs, fish and birds that stroll through. A real life David Attenborough experience guaranteed on arrival. A MASSIVE bucket list item was to jump off Sugarloaf rock (4). Waiting for perfect weather, we sent the gut churning jump into the deep blue. The top of the rock measuring in at 21m, a great wakeup replacement to your morning coffee. Troopy going strong, we seem to continue uncovering secret and jaw dropping locations in the south (5). Locked into this sweet gem whilst on call shooting two talented kite surfers, the final arvo of 5 days behind the lens. What a way to wrap it up! Im lucky enough to share my bday month with one of my best mates, Zac. Making for a stunning weekend we concluded the celbrations 'Lady And The Tramp' style (10). Excited for the next few days, weeks, months and potential year in this heavenly place. Beyond lucky to call these people my friends & this place my home ! by @trentsparkes
I QUIT! Last year I packed up my desk job to travel Australia & pursue a life of photography. Without a bloody doubt, one of the scariest moments of my life. Living in comfort, then plunging straight into the depths of the unknown. YA KIDDIN, you wouldn't believe it... A whole year on the road, with not a single thought of slowing down!! Its still feels like a dream and sure as hell feels right. No words can describe the journey ive been on, the people ive met and the sights ive seen (Still havent left WA yet). And the best part is... THIS IS JUST THE TIP OF THE ICEBERG!!! PLENTY MORE TO COME BABY!! by @trentsparkes
Sri Lanka 🇱🇰 Some of my favourite snaps from this incredible place. Starting with the famous Lions Rock, seen from almost everywhere in Sigiriya, we hiked up and visited neighbouring mountains to view it. This image was taken during our sunrise hike… It’s as breathtaking as it looks. A Different Kind Of Strength. During our three hour journey through the tea covered mountains, we stopped and had a chat with a local woman who spends up to eight hours a day working the hills, carrying loads of up to 20kg on her head through heat, rain and shine Worth the wait. The Safari was a whole different experience. At times it felt like a thousand jeeps on a racetrack, chasing this one moment, the king of the jungle. A Man’s Best Friend. One of the most interesting combos I have ever seen walking along the coast. Monkey on lead & hands on with a cobra, hell yeh brotha. Paradise. Lucky for us, almost every afternoon along the coast was this heavenly. Our favourite spot to park up for a lion beer 🍺 HUGE Bucket List Bird! The Sri Lankan Hornbill (A Male Malabar Pied Hornbill), was one of my highlights of the trip. I could have easily sat there for hours and watched this magnificent creature. Beyond stoked with this meet and greet. Crocodile Food. We kayaked through the lake boarding lions rock in Sigiriya. An incredible scene during sunset, the area was compact full of native wild birds, a stunner of an arvo. Yes there were crocodiles, no we didn’t get spun. The Climb. Lions Rock, this is about half way checkpoint up the whole climb. The view at the top was stunning, a full view of the farm lands, town and water ways that covered Sigiriya. My favourite of the hikes in Sri Lanka. The Fisherman. The traditional wooden Oruwa, just big enough to stand sideways in. Usually sunset and sunrise we would see these boats most active, cruising along the coast banking in fish. Reality. We got up early to ‘beat the crowd’. We didn’t realise the whole of Sri Lanka would be there! Pretty crazy to know this is the norm in the national parks. I understand why though, we spent 10 hours in there and I still didn’t want to leave! A experience I want to repeat asap. L by @trentsparkes
Postcards From Sri Lanka 🇱🇰 An insane 3 week mission winding through the busy city life, beautiful mountain ranges and scenic coastline. It’s quite incredible to see so much diversity in just a small car ride. Dealt the challenging card of high humidity and heat, aircon became a blessing & curry for breakfast an absolute hike. Nevertheless we immersed head first into the ways of the locals, food, dancing and of course lion beers. We picked some absolute gem home stays, the people and food were incredible. With my top pick being the family we stayed with at Yalla national park. Until next time, Stuti Machan 🤝 by @trentsparkes
Bloody Gorge-ous! Back into Exy once again… Rocks, canyons & creeks. Much love for the sticks, even though most my days are spent in the salt water. Blasted with winds pushing over 40km/h in the first few days of our trip… No better place to hide than the north west rocks. We were absolutely BLESSED with weather the rest of the trip copping days with no wind at all and blue skies! Didn’t feel real at all! Next post will be a tribute to this. Missing the board short weather already… Clicks from Kalbarri, Exmouth & Bullara Station. by @trentsparkes
Can Still Taste The Bintangs… A few magic snaps from our journey through Indonesia. Riding mopeds bareback, hunting swell, luggin around nothing but a coupla sticks, a few boardies & a camera. Favourite snaps from the trip! Still mesmerised by the scenery, culture and locals. 🇮🇩 by @trentsparkes
INTO DUST - A Dive Into The Raw South Australian Coastline In Search For Waves. 3 weeks of nonstop bloody amazing stories, people & places. An action packed trot through the dirt & rocks on the hunt for world class waves. Blessed with some incredible weather conditions & swell forecasts we were truly handed the golden platter. Over 6,000kms added to the old reliable Troopy, a marathon & a true test of its fitness. Despite many blowouts, she ran the full race with flying colours (mainly dirt brown). Still kickin and currently getting ready for the next adventure! An overall trip of lifetime, packed with some wicked lads. Thanks for your hospitality South Aus. **DIJI CAM bonus vid at the end by @trentsparkes
SOLD OUT!! No Way… We bloody maxed out! A project that has taken us to some incredible locations & created some truly beautiful clips. Finally on the big screen! @_mun_dog_ & @cohenwthomas putting on an absolute clinic, never seen before clips of world class waves being fully torn apart. A unique combination of bodyboarding & surfing into a mesmerising high pace film. The positive reviews, support and hype by the crew that attended makes every second of the 2 years filming, planning, editing and screening worth its while! An insane project to be part of, backed by some wicked brands. We cannot thank you enough: @menacecompany @mitre10 @project_pargo @vonboards @nueva.australia @nchesurf @pridebodyboards Missed out? Don’t worry, we have some big news… stay tuned! by @trentsparkes
Waves Are For Everyone @snap_happy_ranger West Australia's favourite duo taking to the surf. They have been tandem surfing for many years with Happy (The Aussie Sheppard) starting her surfing career at just 10 weeks old! I've truly never seen two surfers more excited to get in the water and ride waves together. It's impossible not to smile watching this duo ride in sync. Follow them on instagram to join their journey or look out for them along the Perth and/or South West coastline. #dog #surf #surfer #surfing #perth #standuppaddle #surflife #surftrip #waves #swell #ocean by @trentsparkes
