Last week I was one of about 70 lucky applicants to be awarded a fully funded scholarship for Curtin Ignition 2026.

I won’t lie, I wasn’t all that familiar with the program prior to a couple of weeks ago. A while back I had come across the WA innovation booster grant and in typical me fashion, counted myself out before even making any kind of attempt.

When a friend brought this to my attention, I didn’t hesitate applying - even submitting a video application for one of the scholarships, which is huge growth considering I bailed on a job application as a graduate, when phase 2 required video response to questions.

So let this serve as a reminder that a little bit of belief and support from a friend can go a long way.

Anyways, feeling extremely blessed and grateful for this next step on the business journey. by @treptrs

There hasn’t been many pinch me moments in this business pursuit to date, but this was definitely one of them.

Don’t get me wrong, wise enough to know that a waitlist signup doesn’t mean there will be any kind of commitment to collaborate in the future, but the fact that the team at Barbagallo Watches could’ve quite easily said no, or just simply ignored the request, and in instead agreed to be added to the waitlist means something.

I choose to believe they see value in what’s being built and it gives me some reassurance that maybe, just maybe, I’m on the right path.

Too far in to quit - not far enough to prove it was worth it.

Unfortunately for everyone, success in any arena isn’t linear - it’s a roller coaster of ups and downs

And in many cases , a lot of people (me) do enough to get frustrated, but not enough to get results

We have this ignorance that actions = results
But in actual fact, actions + reflection + refinement + redoing actions = results

Crazy to think I first had the idea for Applas 6 years ago and largely due to my own limiting beliefs, I haven’t gone all in

People who lack discipline will easily get discouraged and give up before they ever have a chance of seeing results, which is something I know all too well

The important thing is not to give up
