Left the hills of Domodosolla🇮🇹 🚌 -> Bergamo 🇮🇹

Stopped for some delicious lunch in some little town, and continued onwards to Bergamo. We were all feeling pretty slumped when we arrived at Joe Koala, but luckily our first set was at 11pm, so we had some time to veg out in the green room and get some rest.

We were supposed to drive back to Germany to play our next gig, but we received information that the venue was only providing:

×1 microphone/stand (we have four singers)
- No soundman
-No accommodations
-No dinner buyout

We said f*ck that and bailed on the gig. If we wanted to play a show like that, we could just go back to the US! Totally kidding...but not really. If you're a musician in the Bay Area you probably know what I'm talking about. It can be rough out there!

Spent the morning walking around Bergamo and got to visit Cattedrale di Sant'Alessandro Martire. These cathedrals always leave me with a sense of calmness after stepping out of the building. The grandiose architecture has an impact on the nervous system in ways I cannot describe. Some people may say it's the Lord...but I think it has more to do with the geometry and the makeup of materials in the building. Lots of marble × pink granite. Guess who else was all about that pink granite? Piezoelectric currents in the air? Calming colors mixed with violent religious imagery? Who knows! All I know is I was vibin' hard.

The whole crew is happy to have a day off today. We've been going at it nonstop for 3 weeks now and it'll be nice to have a night to just chill. Still a 6.5 hour drive back to Germany, but our driver is a true road warrior and it doesn't even phase him. by @trevacado_

Domodosolla 🇮🇹

First show in Italy was a success other than a small bout of sickness.

As we pulled up to the venue and began unloading, I started to feel very light headed, blurred vision and felt like I was going to pass out. Cherron told me to go get some food and Rob went to accompany me. Found a croissant and a cookie and inhaled them, chugged some water and started to feel better. I think it was the mix of high altitude and possibly lack of fluids/salts but idk for sure. We had some pizza and I started to come back around. By soundcheck I was good to go and we had a great show.

After the gig, we packed up and drove up into the hills of Domodosolla and stayed at the promoter's Father's cottage. It felt like stepping into The Shire from LoTR! Slept like a baby and we were off to the next location in Italy: Bergamo taken in Domodossola by @trevacado_

Albi, France 🇫🇷

After Terragona 🇪🇸 we headed back into enemy territory (they don't like loud drums in France) and played a show at Le B.A.R. in Albi. My cymbals were too loud for the sound man's sensitive ears and I had to gaff up my cymbals and drums to reduce volume. This made me quite pouty, but luckily @cherronarens is a music guru and he showed me how to properly mute a cymbal without choking out all the tone. The show was really fun and after we went back to stay at the promoter's (shoutout Guillome) home. He had a dog and cat and some chickens which made me happy because I've been missing my animal buddies back at home. In the morning, Joel and I took an Uber to Albi Cathedral, did not get to see the interior, but walked around the beautiful exterior and through the old streets of Albi. It felt like taking a step back in time. Some of the buildings have been standing since 13th century which is such a trip to see. Marseille × Drive through the Alps to Italy 🇮🇹

Marseille, France was really cool (other than them not liking loud drums and me having to play at a low volume once again) We walked through the streets, witnessed some of the night life and rocked the set!

After that, we packed up and drove to Gap 🇫🇷 to get a headstart on the long drive. They had every freeway entrance blocked in Marseille, so it took some time to find our way out of town. Both of our headlights also had burnt out, so we had to stop to repair them the next morning after driving around with brights on, or no lights if oncoming traffic was heading our way. Made it to Gap around 4:30 in the morning and stayed at a nice hotel. Slept a bit and then made the drive to Domodosolla, Italy. Stopped at a restaurant and ate some delicious Italian pasta.

Terragona, Spain 🇪🇸

Thunderstorms, Roman Ruins, Laundry Day.

We are ⅔'s of the way through the tour and I am loving every second of it. It is not always easy. There is some sleep deprivation, heavy lifting of luggage and gear, *usually up or down tiny staircases* and long trips in a packed van. Playing the music makes all the hardship worth it. It's a crazy thing to say yes to a tour with a group of people you have not met, and then fly across the world to go rock with them. I really got lucky and feel blessed in the fact that all the individuals in this group are amazing musicians, and also super cool humans. I am honored to be able to help them play their songs for the people of Europe, and I would not trade this life journey for ANYTHING.

Madrid 🇪🇸 -> Valencia 🇪🇸

Valencia came through! Our show in Barcelona got canceled. A little bummed because my dad lived there at one point in his life, and I have heard nothing but good things about the city. Fortunately for us, the owner of this club in Valencia opened his doors for us to have a show there, which was usually closed on Monday's.

Smallest stage we have played this tour but we packed it in and made it work! The club owner insisted that I use the house kit (drummers know this is a coin toss...sometimes house kits are trash) luckily, he had a beautiful lil' @gretschdrums Catalina Club. I was stoked because the @dwdrums hardware/kit I am currently running is a little torn up. Stripped out cymbal stands, floor tom legs rotating, kick pedal barely hanging on. The DW sounds thunderous, but it's been through the ringer for sure, so it was nice not to be fighting my gear for one show.

After the gig, we hauled our luggage through the streets of Valencia and made it to a beautiful hotel. I was so thankful to have a comfy bed to sleep in after spending the night prior in a hammock/basement. Took a quick shower and went to get ice cream before bed and take in some of the night life. So many beautiful people out dancing in clubs and sitting around the plaza, talking and eating and just enjoying life.

Had a blissful night's rest and loaded up back into the van to head to TERRAGONA!

Tarbes 🇫🇷 -> Madrid 🇪🇸

The south coast of France was gorgeous. We played in a tiny pub and slept above the venue in an apartment. Everyone was so friendly and it really felt like being home even though we are thousands of miles away from California. After Tarbes, we loaded up and continued onwards to Madrid.

Driving into Spain through the mountains was breathtaking (if you like trees and hills) and Madrid felt like a tropical San Francisco to me. There was a small crowd that came out to see the bands, and lots of records were sold! Slept in the basement of the venue right next to the stage in a hammock (not ideal) and walked around Madrid the next morn.

We played Valencia last night and are now on the way to Terragona!

Having the time of my life out here. Now we need to find a way to bring @themossburns to Europe ASAP.

SCHEDULE CHANGE: Sadly we will no longer be playing Barcelona. Instead we will be performing in Valencia at @centroexcursionistabar, which will definitely be very cool. We are sad we won’t see Barcelona though, and promise to return next time!!

After Brussels, we drove to the ferry in Calais and made our way over to England. It was my first time being back to England since I was a wee lad and it was nice to see Brighton and a little bit of London. Both shows in the UK were awesome. We opened up for @club.brat (check their band they are amazing) and I was stoked to play a @nataldrumsofficial for the first time. Kit sounded huge and looked even sexier. Both of the spots we stayed in were cozy and I got some much needed sleep. We are now en route back to Dover to ferry over to France.

Paris inbound! OUI OUI OUI! 🇫🇷

Long drive ahead, shoutout to our driver @petardo_ig for driving us and keeping us on task and organized. Very glad to have him on the team. He is also an amazing songwriter, so if you guys want to add a cool Italian band to your listening collection: check out @indianizer___ taken in England, UK by @trevacado_
