The inner longitudinal / floor perimeter after wire-wheeling revealed previous brazing repairs. We’ll get #GuidyUp356 back to factory strong. 💪

Next in the shop for “de-rusting” = Preston’s 1960 Sunroof Coupe - #GuidyUp356

I hope I get this story right… 🤞you’re 15 and looking to buy your first car, your parents encourage you to save up and buy a 356 (they’ll help you pitch in🙏) Preston’s Dad, Paul says “who wants a boring Honda/Toyota anyway?!” 🤷‍♂️ You find & buy the car and use it as your daily transportation for years… then you decide to fix it up at 37/38 years old. Your name is Preston and you own a badass 1960 Sunroof Coupe for over 20 years.

Finished up the last of the welding on Lucas’ 51 Bug inner rear quarter panel; passing the baton to him and his Dad to finish up the last bits, now that the driver’s side heater channel is 90% welded in. A fun project!

A little exterior repair to Lucas’ 51 rear quarter panel. Made that cut line as low as possible to save all the original metal I could but up high enough so I could still hammer & dolly it out.
