2 years without my amazing dad. it’s been so so hard. the lasting impact this man has had on every single person he has come in contact with is absolutely mind boggling and very telling of just how much of an amazing father, husband, friend, boss, coach, etc. he was! i will never forget when i held his hand in this hospital, closed my eyes and i had some kind of vision of my life. and he was there for all of it. all of the ups and downs. joy & heartache. he was a perfect example of what a man should be. he loved and accepted everyone, no matter what. thank you for loving our family, dad. love u to heaven & back 🩵 by @treyswizzy

13 years. he was there for 5th AND 8th grade promotion. he was there for graduation. he was there for 3 weddings. he was there for the cancer diagnosis. he was there (and heartbroken) when dad died. he was there for all the memories, all the happiest and lowest points of our lives. he may just be a dog but he represents comforting memories and pure joy. it’s hard to lose such an amazing and joyous dog. everyone who knew him loved him. rest in peace to duke, i hope you’re doing your sprints with dad ❤️ taken in Dog Heaven by @treyswizzy

i cry every time i watch a sunrise or sunset. how magnificent that the death of a day is still beautiful. sometimes i see my dad in beautiful acts of nature. probably cuz he would have appreciated it so much. it’s been almost a month and it’s never going to get easier. no one ever tells you about the late night crippling anxiety attacks. but just like the sun, they set and a glorious new day is found. no matter what happens, the sun will always rise and always set. allow your pain, allow your grief. because just like the grief of the sun as it says goodbye to another day, it’s still glorious and essential. here’s to 2022, a year full of beginnings and endings, sunrises and sunsets, but both make up days filled with light. taken in Orem, Utah by @treyswizzy

this morning of december 9 at 6:00am, my sweet dad has passed away. i’m devastated but i’m so happy that he’s no longer in pain and for the first time in 7 years, he’s cancer free. to say this man was my hero is an understatement. he’s everything i’ve ever wanted to be. thank you for teaching me how to be a dad, husband, and how to love unconditionally. your legacy will live on with your children and i’ve never felt more blessed to carry your name as my middle name. rest in peace to Bryan Brockbank, the best dad ever. thank you for everything and i love you with all my heart. we’re devastated, but you’re going to be in our lives for every step of the way. have fun flying, Superman.
