POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

One year ago today, we were planning the shooting days for Dirty Water. At the time, it was just a story so personal to me, I felt I needed to tell.

We had no idea where that story would take us.

A year later, Antonio and I found ourselves in Toronto during Canadian Screen Awards Week, surrounded by people whose work has inspired us for years. It was one of those moments that makes you pause and realize how much can change in such a short amount of time.

Looking back, I don’t just see a film. I see every late night, every challenge, every person who believed in the project, and every lesson that came with it.

Thank you to everyone who has supported Dirty Water and helped bring this story to life.

And thank you to the Academy of Canadian Cinema & Television and Canadian Screen Week for celebrating Canadian storytellers and creating spaces that inspire the next generation of filmmakers.

One year ago, we were planning a shoot.

Today, we’re standing here reflecting on a journey that has already changed our lives.

And somehow, it still feels like this is only the beginning.

♡
