It began with an irrational act:

a 1962 Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud II, complete in its polished history and mechanical dignity, was deliberately dismantled, although it could have continued to glide.

Its reputation gave the decision weight, but the premise does not depend on prestige, since any object, with or without cultural significance, could become the starting point. What matters is treating a finished form as raw potential, surrendering the certainty of what it is to a disciplined process of what it can become.

Panel by panel, we interrupted the logic of completion, turning a whole into fragments and an object into material, until the arrangement that had governed its meaning no longer governed its future. This was a reset through which meaning could be constructed again, without granting any part authority over the rest.

Dismantling was therefore the artwork’s **method**, rather than its end, and TRIAR holds that method to a controlled transformation protocol: preserve lineage, keep each element accountable to its origin, distribute authorship across professions and rebuild coherence under constraints.

From one origin, many hands produce works across scales and media, from posters and objects to functional pieces and even a new car built from the same lineage. Their coherence depends less on resemblance than on coordination, requiring the discipline to keep identity legible without reducing it to decoration.

Working with reclaimed matter shifts the terms of scarcity, as material ceases to be sacred and authorship becomes the scarce resource, placing the burden of value on the judgement and craft brought to each transformation. Where preservation once governed the object, craft now governs its possibilities, and process takes the place of nostalgia.

The project concerns control over transformation rather than destruction, establishing a method that can be repeated without prescribing its outcomes, while the work continues to unfold. TRAIR LAB with DISMANTLED Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud II 1962 and mechanics by @triar.lab

I want you to see your own face when you talk to me

Two chairs with adjustable mirrors on their backrests. The project draws on Duval and Wicklund’s (1972) theory of objective self-awareness, which suggests that directing our attention towards ourselves helps us become more aware of our actions and behaviour

In this project, the mirror becomes part of the conversation, reminding us that we are not only looking at the person opposite us, but are also objects of our own observation

The chairs are made from production offcuts. Mirror 1 was taken from a disassembled GAZ-24 Volga car, and Mirror 2 is part of a broken retro lamp

Стулья изготовлены из остатков производства. Зеркало 1 снято с разобранного автомобиля ГАЗ-24 «Волга», а зеркало 2 это часть сломанного ретро-светильника by @triar.lab

I’m not just what you see. The light, the space and everything my creator places around me can change how you experience me, revealing something you might not have noticed before.

I’m still the same object, but the air around me has changed.

Three Я, three cubes, each 3 × 3 × 3 metres, give creators room to build a world around an artefact. The space is more than a place to display the work; it becomes part of what the work has to say.

BEZRUKOV X TRIAR

Герой истории в момент краха теряет все внешние признаки успеха, после аварии он всего лишь груда метала, но никак не маркер богатства. Это не значит, что теперь он никому не нужен, наоборот, ему придется пройти долгий путь восстановления. Как и роллс ройс 62го года, который полностью разобрали — это больше не автомобиль, который показывает благосостояние владельца, его детали утратили изначальный функционал и теперь служат вдохновением и материалом для различных артистов, которые возвращают деталям смысл, пусть и не изначально задуманный.

Биокожа в объективе 📸📕

Недавно студенты Школы дизайна НИУ ВШЭ, прошедшие авторский вариатив Артема Шамраева «Предметная и интерьерная коммерческая фотография», приняли участие в конкурсе, где им предстояло создать фотосерию, главным героем которой стала биокожа.

Конкурс прошёл совместно с лабораторией @triar.lab — профессиональным сообществом, которое исследует альтернативные материалы и развивает экосистему R³Cycle, объединяющую дизайн, технологии и культуру для поиска устойчивых решений.

Именно изучением, выращиванием и созданием биокожи в TRIAR занимается наша студентка Екатерина Челбаева.

Since 1962, this walnut has known hands.

It once rested beneath a window in a @rollsroycecars Royce Silver Cloud II, steady, supportive, quietly present. Palms leaned into it, fingers curled around it, weight shifted against it as doors opened and closed.

Now the same grain meets a new body. The lacquer warms under touch. What it offers has not changed: support, contact, a place for the hand to settle.
The journey was never about the road.
