“🎸Back To The Riff🎶 - Inside Us All” BRING BACK CLEAN GUITAR INTROS!!! This is one of Mark’s best and it lays a PERFECT foundation for this track. The song is essentially about feeling isolated, questioning whether everything you’re going through is worth it, and then realizing that every person has an inner source of peace that can carry them through difficult periods. It also argues that underneath our different identities and circumstances, we’re all dealing with many of the same struggles. You might say this song has a similar message to “One” off of the “My Own Prison” album and that would totally be a valid statement! There aren’t enough songs written about how we’re all connected and how we should be seeking to make connections with each other as often as possible! Here’s to the peace that can be inside us all!🍻🤝🏻🤟🏻 Fun Fact🎉: The band went from unloading their own gear to arenas ridiculously fast. Stapp described going from living in an apartment on a mattress, driving a van and trailer, and playing bars to having tour buses, semis and arena shows within roughly two years. by @tributetocreed

“🎸Back To The Riff🎶 - Wash Away Those Years” The song was written by Scott Stapp and Mark Tremonti, and the lyrics strongly center on a woman who has been violated and is trying to continue living afterward. Contemporary commentary on the song also identifies it as addressing abuse and the experience of victims. Just another instance where Creed presented these wonderful songs to us and helped us to not feel alone in our struggles no matter the situation. That’s REAL music right there. Turn it UP!!!📻🎶🎧 Fun Fact🎉: 🎸 The PRS Tremonti moment was actually emotional for Mark. He remembers being in an arena and opening a guitar case to discover his PRS Tremonti signature guitar. He described it as one of the peak moments of his career because he couldn’t believe he had a guitar with his name on it from what he considered the best guitar company in the world. by @tributetocreed

“🎸Back To The Riff🎶 - Higher” How do you write two of your biggest songs on the same album and have them back to back on the track listing on said album? Creed was truly cooking on high heat with “Human Clay.” 🔥🔥 Creed used to improvise songs during shows when they didn’t have enough material for a full set. Scott Stapp would challenge the band to create something on the spot. Mark Tremonti started playing a chord progression, Scott Phillips started a drum beat, and Stapp began singing. That improvisation produced the chorus of “Higher.” They had recordings of their shows and later went back, found the idea, and developed it into the finished song. Tremonti has said the audience may have been around 4,000 people. Were you there when they first played this legendary rock staple? Let us know in the comments!!!📢💥🎶 Fun Fact🎉: Both “Higher” and “With Arms Wide Open” were written on stage! They were at Penn State, and Tremonti started fingerpicking the intro part to “With Arms Wide Open” that became the song. Stapp heard it, asked him to keep playing, grabbed the microphone, and started singing. Tremonti says they had most of the melody worked out before they knew it. “🎸Back To The Riff🎶 - With Arms Wide Open” This is one of the main songs that catapulted Creed into the main stream and changed their lives forever! It definitely changed ours! This song was written when Scott Stapp had found out he was going to be a father! Even though it has happened many times in this world, having a child is truly something that never gets old, and something an entire world will be able to relate to at some point. So what a genius idea for a song! This was recorded during a time where guitar solos were NOT in the mainstream, and not often celebrated because of the recent grunge movement. Mark Tremonti not only creates one of the most iconic intro riffs ever, but creates an equally iconic solo to go along with it! That’s how Creed ROLLS!!!🏎️💨 Play it loud!🤟🏻🎶 Fun Fact🎉: 💿 Human Clay spent 104 weeks on the Billboard 200. That’s two full years on the chart. by @tributetocreed

“🎸Back To The Riff🎶 - Never Die” A song about not letting adulthood, hardship, or the passage of time kill your youth! “Life is going to age you, hurt you, and make you more cynical if you let it. Don’t allow that to kill the innocent, hopeful, curious part of yourself that existed when you were young. Your body will age, but your youthful spirit doesn’t have to die.” Such an awesome message that’s definitely not talked about enough. Scott takes time to talk about this every time they play this song live currently and it’s always impactful! Turn this one up!🎶🤟🏻🔥 Fun Fact🎉: 🎸 Creed were already playing “Human Clay” songs before Human Clay existed.
