This is a quick EQ tip: don’t high pass everything.

If you do, you run the risk of making your mix sound really thin. Very often, even if you don’t realize it, those low frequencies in certain instruments are adding weight, character, and emotion to the music. That information can make a track feel more interesting and give it something special.

When you start removing everything without really listening, you can end up making the mix sound sterile and lifeless.

Always listen carefully and decide whether those frequencies are helping the music before reaching for a high pass filter. by @trigun_audio

A new addition to the studio 🌿
Plants always make the space feel more alive, organic, and inspiring. Since we spend so much time in the studio, the fact that they can also help improve air quality is another great reason to have them around. by @trigun_audio

Saturation is one of the key elements for making your mix sound thicker and more interesting, while also helping you achieve a louder mix in a clean way by improving the crest factor. In today’s video I share a simple website I use to calculate reverb pre delay and decay time based on the tempo of the track.

It’s a useful way to get solid starting points when you want to use reverb for depth without it being too obvious or without losing punch.

I always treat these values as references, not rules. Reverb can also be used creatively depending on the emotional direction of the sound.

Pre delay is the time between the dry signal and when the reverb starts. Decay time is how long the reverb tail lasts, or how big the space feels. by @trigun_audio
