BYF World Battle

The stage was set. The energy was electric. Battlers of all ages and nationalities represented and did their thing. From OGs in the BYF culture, to the next generation paving the way. They all bought their own unique style and flare, but shared the same fierce competitiveness. We witnessed a 2v2 battle, as well as the first ever international battle. What if I told you that the presence of God was at this year’s #hstreetfestival ? As we continue to celebrate Go-Go’s 50th anniversary all around the city, the impact and influence of Gospel Go-Go cannot be overlooked.

To see the masses stop in their tracks to praise The Lord with @offdahumbleband was an amazing experience. Who said Gospel Go-Go doesn’t crank?!? The crowd thought otherwise. You can’t fake energy.

Some of the best dancers in the city came out for @thereleaseprojectdmv last night, hosted by @yoshellz_ at the Lincoln Memorial. Several dancers poured their soul out with their performance.

Long exposure photography is a technique used to capture and portray movement in a photograph. So I decided to have a little fun, and slowed the shutter down to attempt to capture the beauty in the artists’ movements. No trails or double images you see were edited in, nor is it AI. These images were captured in camera. Each dancer had a different style and flavor, but each was amazing and appreciated. Set in front of iconic Washington DC landmarks the Washington Monument, as well as the Lincoln Memorial.
