Mental Health Matters

“Why green?” - The green ribbon is the international symbol for mental health awareness.

While it’s hard for me to share my story, it’s important to remind those around me that they are not alone. I wear a green ribbon in my hair every game to remind me of my journey and all the work I have put into my mental health. To remind myself that I deserve to be here, despite what I may feel sometimes. To remind me of the joy I now feel. To remind those around me that mental health is a battle that every single person goes through. To remind people struggling that they are not and will never be alone. To remind people that mental health is important.

Life is HARD. College athletics is HARD. There are so many silent battles that people go through that will never be shared or known. So many tears that are hidden behind fake smiles or closed doors. There are so many moments throughout life where happiness can be hard to come by and we feel alone. But please know, you are never alone.

I’m so blessed to be surrounded by an amazing support system, who are there for me no matter what. I’m thankful for those who stand behind me today and remind me that they love me for who I am as a person, not for my accomplishments.

If you are struggling with your mental health, you are NOT alone. You deserve to be here. You deserve to be happy. You MATTER 💚 by @trinity.adams8
