Hi guys just a life update…

Life can completely change when you least expect it.

I went to the ER because I couldn’t swallow food.

They tried to send me home but I was insistent on further testing. I got admitted after waiting a long time and as I waited for further testing I got worse and worse. Soon I saw double, I couldn’t walk, and my speech was completely garbled.

No one could understand me and no one would listen because they thought this was all normal for me with my history of cancer.

I left AMA, and went to St Joesph. I was deteriorating and no one was doing anything. I had to get help.

After getting there I was sedated about 10 hrs later and woke up intubated, with three IVs a central line, and an NG tube. They weren’t sure what it was until two of my friends started having similar symptoms. I had mentioned eating fish and they had the same fish.

We all contracted botulism. A super rare bacteria that produces paralytic toxins. So rare that the antidote had to be flown in from California as only four states have this antidote.

The recovery process would be long and even with the antidote I still struggle to walk, see, and talk. I still can’t eat either.
