QR CUBED is now on view at Trinity Square Video.

In QR CUBED, artist Julian Brown transforms the familiar QR code into oversized physical and digital forms, exploring our evolving relationship with technology and the systems that increasingly shape our everyday lives.

Playful at first glance, the exhibition looks beneath the surface of our digital world — examining attention, surveillance, online platforms, generative AI, and the increasingly blurred boundary between physical and digital experience.

Over 1600 people enjoyed my artwork on Nuit Blanche! 11,000+ scans!! What a feeling, to be there watching. I will never forget it... Thanks Toronto! My augmented reality art installation is on exhibit until mid-November. It’s immersive. It’s fun. It’s tech, but it’s anti-Big Tech. And, I made it with zero AI.

CONTACT by Anika Iyer (@pvnkangel)

On View: September 25 – November 6, 2026 in our Vitrine space (main level hallway)

What does the world seem like to a child before language?

Through camera-less 16mm film, repetition, colour, and texture, CONTACT explores perception before interpretation—seeing before naming.

Working directly with film celluloid, Iyer creates physical imprints that become records of material contact. Examined through a child’s microscope and presented digitally, these surfaces transform under extreme magnification until representation begins to dissolve, leaving images formed through light, texture, and colour.

CONTACT asks whether extreme closeness can bring us closer to pure sensation and the spaces that language cannot reach.

Now on view in our Vitrine: How Many Twins Have the Same Skin by Paola Caramanna (@pa.o._)

A stop-motion puppet film where two identical papier-mâché puppets — one shaped by Sicilian Opera dei Pupi, the other by Mexican Folkloric dance — slowly dissolve the line between them. Built like piñatas, hand-painted with pattern drawn from both cultures, and scored with a recording of the artist’s sister dancing in traditional shoes.
Identity, reframed as fluid instead of fixed.

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us for the opening reception of Blueprints by Kennedy Soong Bouchard on June 10 at @401richmond.

It was a wonderful evening of conversation, connection, and reflection as visitors spent time with the work, shared stories, and heard directly from Kennedy about the ideas and experiences behind the exhibition.

Swipe through for a few moments from the night, including a clip of Kennedy speaking about the project.

If you couldn’t make it to the opening, Blueprints is on view at Trinity Square Video until July 15.
