One of the most unique staycations I’ve done was spending the night in a tiny house at Collective Retreats on Governors Island. 🌿✨

We originally planned on booking one of the glamping tents, but they were completely sold out, so we ended up staying in a tiny house instead... and honestly I wouldn’t change a thing.

The coolest part? Once the last ferry leaves for the night you have the 172-acre island almost entirely to yourself and the guests staying at the resort.

We spent the evening watching the sunset, eating smores around the campfire, wandering the quiet paths, and soaking in a side of New York that I've never experienced before.

Some more things to note:
🍳Breakfast is included with your stay.
🍫They have nightly campfires with complimentary s’mores.
🌇The retreat has a restaurant and bar overlooking the skyline.
☀️The accommodations are seasonal (typically May through October).
💤It’s one of the only ways to stay overnight on Governors Island.

🏡If I went back, I think I’d still choose the tiny house over the tent.

🚙⚠️❌Governors Island is a 172-acre, car-free island in New York Harbor located between Lower Manhattan and Brooklyn.

⛴️You can reach it by ferry in about 8 minutes from the Financial District! It is truly an oasis just minutes from Manhattan that feels worlds away from the city.

England or a Mediterranean Island? ⬇️

🦕Durdle Door is on the Jurassic Coast in Dorset, southwest England and is one of the most beautiful beaches I’ve seen!

How to get there:

From London
🚗By car: about 2.5–3 hours depending on where in London you start
🚂By train: around 3–4 hours total, plus a taxi or bus to Durdle Door

From the Cotswolds: (which is what I did)
🚙about 2-3 hours by car
🚎Public transportation is possible but can take 4–5+ hours with multiple connections.

We did a day trip from Castle Combe in the Cotswolds to Durdle Door. It was a long day but if you start early it’s worth it 🤩

For the month of June I’ll be posting about Durdle Door - one of the most famous natural landmarks in England. 🚪✨

Durdle Door is a spectacular beach with a limestone sea arch on the coast of Dorset along the UNESCO-listed Jurassic Coast. The arch was formed over thousands of years as waves eroded weaker rock eventually carving a hole through the harder limestone.

I was just blown away by this beach and its beauty!🌼

For the month of May I will be posting about Castle Combe..one of the most popular villages in the Cotswolds! Pictured here is the iconic spot at dusk vs daytime!

One of the wildest things is that the historic center hasn’t had new buildings added since around the 1600s, so it still feels authentically medieval and almost frozen in time!

Bibury💚🧡 how long should you stay? ⬇️
If you’re just sightseeing:
2–3 hours is plenty. You can walk through the famous Arlington Row, stroll along the River Coln, wander without a plan, maybe pop into a café and have lunch, and you’re done.

My recommendation:
Don’t plan Bibury as your main stop. Pair it with nearby villages in the Cotswolds like Bourton-on-the-Water or Stow-on-the-Wold. Then Bibury becomes a perfect 2–3 hour highlight 🤩
