POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED
It’s been almost 10 years since I last stepped foot on the campus of @delawareccc. The last time was in 2017, for a building dedication in my dad’s honor. We lost him the following year.

I grew up at this college from when I was baby to tagging along as a toddler to taking weekend classes in calligraphy, French, and theater. This place has been part of my life for as long as I can remember.

So returning for the annual scholarship luncheon was emotional in ways I hadn’t anticipated.

It was wonderful to reconnect with people who knew and loved my dad, hear stories about his impact, and see how much of his philosophy lives on. As the college approaches its 60th anniversary, it was especially meaningful to see its new president carrying forward that same belief in education, community, and opportunity.

My dad believed education could change lives. And so do I.

I recognize how fortunate I was to grow up surrounded by people who valued education, encouraged curiosity, and gave me opportunities not available to everyone. None of us chooses the circumstances we’re born into, and the playing field has never been equal.

My dad once said:

“The goal is to see students complete their programs, getting them past everyday hurdles and personal constraints that sometimes get in the way of success.”

Hard work alone doesn’t always open doors. Sometimes someone just needs to hold one open.

That’s why our family’s scholarship in his memory means so much. Meeting this year’s recipient, hearing her story, and seeing her determination was the highlight of our visit. She has such a bright future, and I know my dad would be so proud.

I could feel his presence everywhere yesterday. What a beautiful thing to see his legacy continue to open doors 💙

16 years of friendship, 61 countries for me, 69 for @wynne_win, and somehow Marrakech was our first one together.

She bought a rug. I am coming home with incredible Moroccan designer jackets (shocker, I know), marula oil and enough skincare goodies to justify the checked bag. First hammam. Her first hookah on the rooftop of @nobumarrkech. Drinks and a little snooping around @lamamouniamarrakech, dinner and a tour of @royalmansourmarrakech, all in the name of extremely rigorous travel advisor research. I take my responsibilities seriously.

We shopped, wandered, ate extremely well and confirmed that after 16 years, we can definitely travel together.

And yes, I’m finally posting Marrakech as I’m about to leave Madrid. More Morocco (and Spain) to come because I needed to finish the trip before documenting it and stay in the moment 🥰

Marrakech, you were a good one. taken in Marrakech, Morocco by @tripwhisperer

August 4 will always be one of those days I’ll never forget.

I wasn’t in Beirut when the port exploded, but part of my heart was. I remember the frantic phone calls trying to reach my partner, wondering if our cats survived, checking in on friends, and desperately trying to understand the scale of what had happened. The helplessness from thousands of miles away is something I’ll never shake.

My experience is insignificant compared to those who lived through that day. I’m thinking of everyone who lost loved ones, friends, homes, businesses, and a sense of safety.

Beirut gave me some of the most meaningful years of my life. It introduced me to lifelong friendships, and a city that captured my heart in a way few places ever have.

Over the years, I’ve heard so many Lebanese friends say they don’t like being called “resilient.” Not because they aren’t, but because they’re exhausted by a lifetime of uncertainty, of living on alert, of rebuilding, and wondering what comes next. No one should have to carry that weight.

My hope isn’t that they’re resilient. It’s that they finally get to experience what every person deserves: lasting peace.

Thinking of Beirut and everyone I love there today 🇱🇧❤️ by @tripwhisperer

I’m so excited to partner with my foodie friend @thecuriousmexican from @Devouredmx to introduce everyone to Mexico City through her favorite markets, neighborhoods, chefs, and hidden gems. If you’ve followed me for any length of time, you already know my travel philosophy: life is simply too short for mediocre meals.

If you’ve ever wanted someone to plan the fun parts while still giving you the freedom to wander, discover, and make the city your own...

...this week was designed for you.

Welcome to Casa Amsterdam. 🏡✨

I followed my gut on this one, and honestly, it feels like the kind of experience I’ve always wanted to create—a house full of interesting people, incredible conversations, unforgettable meals, and one of my favorite cities in the world during its most exciting week.

✨ Only 8–10 guest spaces available.

If you know me or you’ve ever been to one of my dinners, happy hours, events, or gatherings, you know you’ll probably leave with a new friend or two.

Connection has always been my favorite part of what I do. Bringing together interesting people. Creating memorable experiences. Making everyone feel welcomed and cared for.

That’s exactly the spirit behind this idea for my next travel venture.

Some of you know I had hoped to host my first dining series in Lebanon this year. Given everything happening in the region, it simply isn’t the right time, which honestly breaks my heart.

So instead, I’m channeling that same energy into a place I have fallen in love with: Mexico City.

This February during Art Week, I’m hosting a small, curated salon alongside my friend @thecuriousmexican founder of @devouredmx. Think incredible meals, contemporary art, hidden gems, mezcal tastings, beautiful villa to call home, and a table full of curious, kind people who all have great stories to tell.

This isn’t a group tour. It’s a gathering.

If you’ve ever thought, I’d love to travel with Jess someday, maybe this is your sign!

If you’d like to learn more, send me a DM or click the link in bio. I’d love to share what we’re creating as well as select the right sized villa based on interest.

And Lebanon? We’re simply postponing, not canceling. Inshallah, next summer 🫶 Cause ya know I’ll never give up on a place I love. taken in Mexico City, Mexico by @tripwhisperer

One of my favorite parts of this industry has very little to do with five-star hotels, private aviation, or luxury cars. It doesn’t hurt…

It’s watching entirely different worlds collide.

Last night, one invitation brought together private aviation (thank you @seeing_eye_doug), automotive design, hospitality, luxury lifestyle brands, yachting, watch collectors, founders, and entrepreneurs—all in one hangar.

✈️ @magellanjets
🚘 @maybachluxury & Ocean Club Yacht
🥂 @bar.reve.nyc
⌚️ @watchmissgmt collectors & creators

What stayed with me wasn’t the aircraft or the cars. It was the conversations. The thoughtful connections and seeing the thread that connected us.

That’s the part I love.
The people who are always asking, “Who should know each other?”
The founders who say yes to ambitious ideas. You know I’m always in 🙋‍♀️
The creatives who see possibilities instead of limitations.

The connectors who are already thinking 10 steps ahead, not because there’s an immediate opportunity, but because they can see where the puzzle pieces might fit months or even years from now.

Those are my people.

Luxury isn’t just about beautiful experiences.

It’s about the relationships that create them.

And oh what a night of plane spotting! The #AVGeek in me was happy.

Thank you to my video producer @fleamarketart & content director @watchmissgmt ✨🥰 #tallgirl IYKYK taken in Teterboro Airport by @tripwhisperer

My first @tbexevents was in 2010 in NYC, and after a 12-year hiatus, it was nice to be back.

The last time I attended, I was representing Expedia. This year, I was there alongside the incredible @vamosrentacar team—a reminder of just how many different corners of this industry I’ve been fortunate enough to experience over the past two decades.

I’ve worked in hotels, airlines, tourism boards, car rentals, OTAs, tour operators, PR, marketing, and now as both a luxury travel advisor and content creator. Seeing TBEX again through all of those lenses was interesting to observe.

Some things have changed dramatically.

Others… not so much.

My favorite session was from @marty_sandiego who spoke about building a sustainable creator business—not just chasing the next brand deal. She reinforced something I’ve believed for years:

• Diversify your revenue.
• Don’t build your business on one platform.
• Invest in your email list.
• Don’t sleep on LinkedIn.
• Own your audience instead of renting it.

One thing that hasn’t changed since 2010?

Relationships.

Some of my favorite moments happened between sessions—catching up with longtime friends, finally meeting people I’d only known online, making new introductions, and watching people recommend opportunities for someone else who wasn’t even in the room.

That, to me, is the best part of this industry.

I’ve always believed your network grows when you’re genuinely generous with it.

The more you connect people.
The more you think long-term.
The more you become known as someone who creates value….not just for yourself, but for everyone around you.

That’s been the foundation of my career as a publicist, and honestly, one of the greatest gifts travel has given me.

A huge thank you to @visitrichmondva for being such a welcoming host city. I especially appreciated the city’s intentional spotlight on local businesses, including its fantastic Black-owned restaurant guide, along with all the neighborhood experiences that encouraged attendees to explore beyond the convention center. They did a wonderful job showcasing the city.

Last night, I attended the anti-ICE dinner at @honeysuckle_restaurant organized by @roadsandkingdoms and left feeling deeply grateful for the experience and community in the room.

A lot of Americans experience immigration as an abstract political debate. Last night, I experienced it through food, conversation and hearing directly from people whose employees, families, friends, and communities are affected every day. That’s often what restaurants do at their best; they create a table where complicated issues become human.

The founders of @honeysuckle_restaurant shared a moving and personal perspective on what it means to support a community, create opportunities and care for people who are simply trying to work hard, provide for their families and build a life. Their stories were a powerful reminder that behind every headline are real people, and real consequences.

The evening raised funds for @vamos_juntos_ whose work supporting immigrant communities is more important than ever. I was happy to contribute in a small way and learn more about getting involved.

What are we doing if we’re not looking out for each other? If we’re not hoping for good things to happen for other people? I want people to be well fed, nourished and thriving. It’s not pie and there are limited slices of prosperity. Everyone’s life has been made better by an immigrant. You cannot argue that. They are the backbone of this country and bring beauty to my life.

As a partner of @roadsandkingdoms @anthonybourdain championed that and brought humanity to our TV screens for years. I dearly miss his words and presence although his mission was alive and well around those tables last night.

Thank you @nthornburgh and team! Good sharing a table with @travelinganna who took leftovers to those in need around Philly - a cherry on top! by @tripwhisperer

Full circle moment.

About 15 years ago, @travelinganna and I met at one of the very first travel blogging conferences, back when none of us really knew what the creator economy would eventually become. Somehow, through all the platform shifts, industry changes, startups, agency life, press trips, conferences, and evolving media landscapes, we’ve stayed great friends ever since.

I grew up on dial-up internet, MySpace, college email-only Facebook, and remember when Twitter launched during my first PR job at M. Silver Associates not long after arriving in NYC.

Since then, I’ve worked across global agencies, boutique firms, tourism, hospitality, startups, and eventually built my own business. I even helped run TravelCon, watching this industry evolve in real time.

Now, I get to teach with @newscreatorcorps alongside so many talented professionals, and help mentor the next generation of creators + media producers, feels incredibly meaningful.

The platforms may change, but storytelling still matters. Trusted voices matter. Ethical, thoughtful media matters.

So proud of this second graduating class and grateful to Annemarie, @lobdell_rachel and the entire NCC team for creating such an important organization at such a critical time.

Next cohort applications are now open for rural creators through June 7, with the fall class coming after. Feel free to reach out if you’d like to learn more or share with someone who should apply to the fellowship 📝 by @tripwhisperer

Happy Global Travel Advisor Day ✈️

Honestly, this has become my version of Valentine’s Day.

Every year it makes me stop for a second and reflect on where I started, how many corners of this industry I’ve worked in, and how unexpectedly perfectly this career fits me.

Before becoming a travel advisor, I spent years in travel PR and hospitality working with airlines, tourism boards, hotels, editors, media trips, launches, and the kinds of travel experiences that eventually became magazine features and glossy inspiration pieces.

After spending five years working with @astatraveladvisors surrounded by travel advisors and industry leaders, becoming an advisor myself felt less like a career change and more like a natural evolution.

What people don’t always realize is this job is hard. Really hard.

Travel advising requires logistics, emotional intelligence, problem solving, diplomacy, creativity, adaptability, and an enormous amount of care behind the scenes that clients thankfully never have to see.

But I love it.

Because at the core of it all is hospitality, personalization, connection, and helping people experience the world in a meaningful way.

Having worked across so many sides of travel in hotels, airlines, tourism, media, in-house hospitality, and now advisory, all of that perspective absolutely shapes the way I build itineraries and advocate for my clients today.

And after 60 countries, living abroad, and nearly two decades in this industry… I still don’t take travel for granted.

I genuinely believe travel changes people for the better.

I believe it creates empathy, perspective, curiosity, relationships, confidence, memories, and opportunities we otherwise may never have experienced. And I think it’s something worth protecting.

So today feels less like celebrating a job title and more like celebrating a life and industry that has given me so much.

Grateful for every client, every partner, every opportunity, and every version of myself that led here.

xo,

First official playdate at the @flyingpigfarm. The dogs met. There were dynamics (and a diva). My Bloomey baby established herself as the ruler of the estate (naturally).

I think the kids got along? Everyone survived so that feels like a win 😅

The coziness and conversations were top notch. taken in Muncy Valley, Pennsylvania by @tripwhisperer
