Uncommon Drip Back on my sandwich hunt and I had to try calgarys coolest hip hop cafe. The vibes were POPPPING here and they play amazing music. The drinks were super interesting and the sandwiches list was TEW good. Iced creamsicle matcha 7/10 The matcha was well balanced with the bright orange syrup. It was a super refreshing drink for summer and was not heavy at all Pho Sandwich 8/10 Spicy, salty, and paired so so well with the pho dip. Super fragrant and they don’t skimp on the fillings Matcha cookie 9/10 Amazing texture! Super soft and the matcha was actually tasty Overall I really enjoyed this cafe and I hope to try their other drinks. I deffo recommend this cafe if you enjoy a more hangout cool vibe versus a working cafe vibe by @trishcraves
Where to go for your next edmonton food trip! Honestly surprised that the food scene is not too bad. Highly recommend mai mai and flatboy (especially now flatboy is coming to calgary) #fooddump #yyc #yeg by @trishcraves
We are so back! What I been eating recently and my fav bites. #fooddump #yyc by @trishcraves
Brouhaha Brunch is my favourite meal ever and I had to check out the OG asian fusion brunch place for the first time. They have a super wide range of food with mainly east/ south east asian influence. Nasi Goreng Bowl 6/10 Good but something was missing. The rice could have been better seasoned. Steak Bowl 8/10 Super fresh flavours with a great sauce. Best thing by far. The sweet potato and regular potatoes were great touches. Perfectly seasoned Chicken and Waffles 7/10 LOVED that it came with a bubble waffle!! Though too much chicken (odd critique ik) and the sauces tasted like nothing and were too watery. Overall 7/10 I think they have super unique stuff and the food is creative but it just doesn’t hit as other places in calgary. by @trishcraves
Clearly in a very east asian food mood as of recent but calgary just offers such good options. Another month of good eating. #monthlydump by @trishcraves
Kama Kama serves mediterranean food and is a beautiful spot to go for dinner. Went for YYC exp and got to sample a bunch of their menu items for $50. We got the pork belly, pita with whipped labneh, cucumber salat, and hummus, mushroom gnocchi, salmon, and blackberry tahini cake. We let feeling FULL and satisfied. The pita and sides were PERFECT. The cucumber salad and labneh were BANGINGGGGGF. 10/10 Pork belly was sweet and spicy but a little dry. 7/10 Mushroom gnocchi 9/10 A little heavy but so rich and creamy Salmon 6/10 While the salmon was cooked perfectly, i did not like the mint sauce or squash fritta it came with. It felt like a waste of a dish because of that Blackberry tahini cake 8/10 I love the cake, dense and sweet. The yuzu on top with the white chocolate was so good. The toffee was a great touch. Though it’s an acquired taste and my sister was not a fan I think the menu has so much to offer and it is definitely worth checking out. Some things my palate just doesn’t align with but overall a positive experience. 8.5/10!! by @trishcraves
Shibuya Izakaya Finally visted their relocated mcknight location aye. I haven’t been here in a hot minute so I got a lot of stuff lol. The place is super clean and staff is super helpful! The food was actually really good. It was a step up from your average japanese place with some unique flavours like their yam fries with the a fire dill mayo sauce and creamy slightly sweet ramen. Super soft squid and the sushi was really fresh. Honestly better than I expected Bbq Squid 8/10 Yam Fries 10/10 Salmon sushi 8/10 Tonkatsu Ramen 8/10 Mango roll 6.5/10 Dynamite roll 5/10 Ebi unagi roll 7.5/10 Shrimp Tempura 7.5/10 Great place to check out. Only downside is it is lowkey expensive asf. by @trishcraves
B’eo I know you BEEN seeing this on your feed so I am adding ANOTHA to it that isn’t sponsored . From the creators of greedy donut, b’eo specializes in matcha desserts such as lattes, cookies, cheesecakes, tiramisu, and ofc their famous donut. I got the ceremonial grade matcha and a matcha donut. The matcha latte was really good. Sweet, creamy, and a good matcha flavour. I think it was a little too sweet but that’s just me. I think the matcha donut was perfect and actually tasted like matcha. Weirdly the dough is not as soft and a bit more dry than the other location tho. Matcha Latte 9/10 (a bit pricey $6 for not a lot of drink) Matcha Donut 8/10 It’s super super cute inside and I think it’s worth checking out!! by @trishcraves
Marugame Udon Crossiron mall is COOKING with the new places to eat. The interior is really clean and when i went there was no line at like 7pm. The service is super quick as well. I got the Nikutama udon and shrimp tempura and paid $16 Nikutama Udon 8/10 This was a more saucey based udon but i lovedd it. I added some spice seasoning and it made everything 10x better. The noodles were bouncy and the sauce with the egg was so good. It was a bit too salty tho Shrimp Tempura 7/10 Crispy coating but nothing special, but for $2 it’s a steal Overall 8/10 Super cheap eat and i was left so full. The staff are sweet and quick. Totally worth checking out! by @trishcraves
Acme I finally got to try acme’s brunch! It’s a smaller menu but you can tell everything is intentional and high quality. As a huge fan of their dinner, i was really excited to try this place. We tried the mortadella benny and the shakshouka. I was not the biggest fan of the mortadella benny, i think that mortadella is not my favourite thing ever and this felt one dimensional. The bread was dry and a bit too thick. The shakshouka was really well spiced and the focaccia was SO good. It’s a more traditional style, hearty and a great bite. The potato pave was the star. Crispy, PERFECTLY salted, and the layers still have me drooling. The sauce reminded me of sour cream and onion and matched perfectly with the potato. Overall a good meal! I hope they keep things innovative a much like their dinner menu! Features when 😌 Potato pave 9/10 Mortadella benny 6.5/10 Shakshouka 7.5/10 by @trishcraves
I am a salted bread lover. and @wowbakeryca has the BEST salt bread ever. I was so so so excited to see the new flavours because their original butter cream one is my fav. If you are looking for that crispy bottom and pillowy inside, GO TO WOW BAKERY!!!! Like this is not even sponsored i just LOVE salt bread Original Salt Bread 9/10 Garlic Butter 10/10 (it’s like the korean garlic bagels but salt bread) Mocha 7/10 Ham and Cheese 8/10 Salted Buttercream 10/10 Whipped Cream 10/10 by @trishcraves
