New designs by @chriscolbourn. Incredibly grateful to have had Cookie work on these. He’s excellent skater and an amazing artist. It was a pleasure brainstorming with him and to see the amount of thought and effort that went into these amazing watercolors!

Based on the iconic Trinity College ledge-to-bank in Hartford, CT (RIP).

PARK SPOTLIGHT: Oak Crest Cove Skate Park

Sandwich (the town not the food) has had a park since 2000. However, the original prefab dilapidation was destroyed in 2017. A few years later in 2020, thanks to the design and build from @newlineskateparks, Oak Crest Cove skate park was born.

This concrete playground has great flow. You can circle around the perimeter hitting the street features or meander down into the two interior bowls. Well, one is more like a micro park in the form of a 70s conversation pit.

Either way, I’m sure you’ll have fun. Worth the detour if you’re heading to or from the Cape as it’s only 15-20 minutes from the bridge (depending if you’re a Bourne or Sagamore person).

PARK SPOTLIGHT: Wardsboro Skate Park

This is a sneaky fun park. It might not look like much when you pull up, but just start rolling around. It’s got everything you’d want. There’s a nice, long ledge with sharp corners, skatelite pyramid, flat bar, quarters, curbs, manny pad and a good sized mini ramp (though watch out in the flat bottom, a piece is sort of sticking up).

This DIY style park has been around for about two decades. A few years ago the town pitched the idea of converting it to a pickleball court. However, thanks to the Wardsboro Skatepark Committee, they raised over $7K and made a ton of repairs and improvements. Most notably the pyramid.

This park is slept on a bit in Vermont especially with newer ones popping up or being renovated in Bennington and Ludlow of late. Stop by if you’re in the area. You’ll have fun.

PARK SPOTLIGHT: Provincetown Skate Park.

PTown finally has a park. The original was closed in 2022 to make way for the expansion of the police station. The freshly opened park is located at the newly developed Motta Field with the picturesque Pilgrim Monument in the background. It is part of an $11.7M renovation which includes a track, playground, pickleball courts, tennis courts, and community plaza, amongst other things.The ribbon cutting ceremony was July 27th.

The park, built by @artisanskateparks folds together a combination street and transitional features. Nice little park to check out if you’re in the outer Cape.

Snapple fact: the field is named after Provincetown residence Manuel Motta who died in the Korean War at the age of 18.
