This was my first wave this session on a board that I hadnt ridden lately since theres been swell. Its a 5’6” Killer Fish model from @edsakal . Fun fast and loose. I didnt have to pump or drive the board kinda just went like a lil go-kart around a track. Usually takes a a wave to warm up but this wave came and I just felt comfortable right off the bat. taken in Raging Waters Los Angeles by @tristanbates

Made myself a 5’10 Double winged, four channel quad for fun waves. Not saying it hasnt been done sure it has, but I havent noticed one. Had a vision and @ryansakalsurfboards put the file together and brainstormed with me through the design he built. I got it cut, shaped and painted. Should be done soon. Came out nice. Well see how she goes. by @tristanbates

Made myself a 7’2 for a little bigger waves. There are definitely some sessions where I could have used the length and volume. Based this board off of a standard shortboard that I really like. I wanted to bring the maneuverability to a proper step up. We will see how she goes this winter. taken in Old Waialua Sugar Mill by @tristanbates

Made myself a 6’1 for good waves. 2ft to 4ft is the sweet spot. This is a second make of one Ive had. Likes Rockys and Vland. Still goes good at Lanis and some of the other not so critical waves. Fast and loose. taken in Old Waialua Sugar Mill by @tristanbates

Made a couple boards lately. One for @calliestephenson . She wanted a second board from me for smaller waves but something that could still help her advance her surfing. Made her a 5’4 quad. Similar volume to her regular short board condensed into a fun, fast and maneuverable small wave craft. Usually ridden about 3” to 4” shorter or even more than a standard shorty. Made Joe Kang over at Vland a 6’4. He wanted something to get him in smaller waves, but still high performance. Super stoked to make you both boards and mahalo for the repeat orders. Was a lil lonely spending a fathers day without her although she is having a blast in California and will be there 3 weeks. I made the most of it and had a magical day yesterday. Meanwhile shes living it up in California visiting family and friends and adventuring. She growing up so fast and it’s important to enjoy every moment even if its hearing about her travels. Proud to be your dad. by @tristanbates

Mike Cao is surfing smooth and fast on the 5’5” Bandit I made him. Mike wanted something more in the groveler range. As you can see the board is flowing through a variety of maneuvers with speed. He has been riding it in a variety of conditions here on the NS. Its nice to see a really good surfer putting it together on the Bandit model. by @tristanbates
