Infinity Gradient is on the first-round GRAMMY® ballot. The grand collaboration from composer Tristan Perich and organist James McVinnie, Infinity Gradient is an hour-long composition for organ and 100-channel 1-bit electronics, pitting cascading sheets of Perich's signature gritty and gleaming 1-bit electronics against the physical immensity and expansive sonic colors of the organ. Commissioned by Festival Musica and La Soufflerie, and premiered at Festival Musica in Strasbourg (France), the work is Perich's largest to date, having been performed around the world, from MUTEK in Montreal to Southbank Centre in London, and is traveling next to the Barbican (London) and Voices of Ascension (NYC).

Composed by Tristan Perich.
Performed by James McVinnie.
Immersive mix by Nathaniel Reichman.

If you are a voting member of the GRAMMYs®, please watch for Infinity Gradient:
* Best Contemporary Classical Composition
* Best Classical Instrumental Solo
* Best Immersive Audio Album See less

A glimpse into the hypnotic world of Tristan Perich’s ‘Formations’, performed here by cellist Alice Purton. 🔊

Combining the raw simplicity of 1-bit electronics with acoustic instruments, Perich creates music that The Wire has described as “an austere meeting of electronic and organic”.

We’re excited to introduce UK audiences to two of Perich’s works in our first concert of the season, ‘The Mad Moon and the Owls’, alongside music by Natacha Diels, Jack Sheen and Iannis Xenakis.
