Still thinking about this hike. 🥹⛰️

Not because of how high we got or how difficult it was, but because of how small life suddenly felt up there... the worries, the noise, the things I spend too much time overthinking.

Believe me, it was scary and challenging, but absolutely beautiful... and somehow this is exactly the experience I needed.

A little detour from running… and probably one of the craziest things I’ve done. 😅⛰️

Bobotov Kuk, around 2,500+ metres above sea level, one of MNE's highest peaks, and rated HARD for a reason. 😮‍💨😂

Rain, fog, slippery rocks, tired legs and a few scary moments in between. Bobotov Kuk was HARD, but what an experience. 🥹🌧️

Just really grateful for what my body can do, this life and the places my feet continue to take me. 💖🙏🏻

Just here sharing OUR 5-DAY MONTENEGRO ITINERARY ♥️🇲🇪

A little recap of how we spent our Montenegro trip. ⛰️🌊

Save this for your next trip 🥹✈️

DAY 1 — London 🇬🇧→ Podgorica → Žabljak
✈️ Flew into Podgorica
🚗 Picked up our rental car and drove to Žabljak (2hrs)
🏡 Checked into our accommodation
🌲 Explored Black Lake & Durmitor National Park

DAY 2 — Bobotov Kuk, Durmitor National Park
🥾 Hiked the Bobotov Kuk (2,500m elevation) route from Sedlo Pass
⛰️ Reached more than 2,000m elevation (decided not to go to the highest peak because of the bad weather and zero visibility)
🌧️ Rain all day, fog, slippery rocks and some very questionable life decisions 😂
🐕 Met our unexpected four-legged hiking guides along the way
🥹 The most challenging (but fulfilling) AND my favourite part of the trip 💖

DAY 3 — Žabljak → Kotor
🚗 Road trip from the mountains down to the coast (almost 3hrs)
🏔️ Beautiful scenery pretty much the whole way
🌊 Arrived in Kotor and checked into our accommodation
🛥️ Did an impromptu boat tour and swimming by the beach (personally would not recommend)
🚶🏻‍♀️ Explored around the bay
🌅 Mountains to the sea in one day, completely different side of Montenegro

DAY 4 — Perast
🏃🏻‍♀️ Morning run along the Bay of Kotor
🍽️ Lunch at Boka Seafood Restaurant in Perast, 💯 highly recommended!!!
🏝️ Stroll around Perast (a small, beautiful, scenic and less crowded than Kotor)
🏰 Explored Kotor Old Town at night
🐈 Met plenty of Kotor’s famous cats 😂
☕ Food, wandering and taking our time around the old town

DAY 5 — Kotor → Podgorica → London
🚗 Early drive back to Podgorica
✈️ Morning flight home to London
🥹 Very tired legs, wrecked shoes and a LOT of memories.

Mountains, rain, hiking, running, road trips, old towns and the sea… Montenegro gave us a little bit of everything. 🇲🇪🥹

Definitely one for the core memory 💖
