In Ibrahim Ballo’s work, the thread becomes a link between generations, territories and cosmological worlds.

Drawing on embroidery, ancestral practices and the symbolism of the jar, Ballo conceives the horizon as a threshold where memory is transmitted and new possibilities take shape. His work enters into dialogue with Mouna Saboni and Hendrik Beikirch in Par delà l’horizon.

Intense colours, enigmatic figures and richly patterned textiles define Rafael Baron’s distinctive approach to portraiture, where identity remains open and the gaze becomes a space for interpretation.

At ArtVerona 2026, Trium Art Gallery presents Baron’s first solo exhibition in Italy, featuring a new body of paintings created exclusively for the occasion.

Discover an unusual moment in Salvo’s practice - one of the very few still lifes the artist painted across his entire career.

Best known for his luminous landscapes and self-quotations from art history, Salvo turns here to a genre he rarely touched, without abandoning what makes his hand so immediately his own: the flattened color, the light held at the edge of abstraction, the quiet insistence on beauty as a subject in itself.

Happy Birthday, Odinakachi Okoroafor.

“I first met Okoroafor at an important exhibition in London back in 2022. The figures in his canvases caught me immediately - there’s such care, such richness in the way they’re dressed, and their emotion comes through at once: they carry themselves with pride, with quiet confidence, and yet there’s a solitude in them too, as if each gaze were telling a story of its own. Mostly women, wrapped in intricately rendered lace, set against backgrounds as considered and vivid as they are - and still, their eyes seem to drift somewhere else.

What struck me just as much was his command of silkscreen, layered into mixed technique on canvas to build compositions that feel entirely his own - pictorially rich, and carrying real depth beneath the surface.” - Mattia Masciullo, Trium Art Gallery.

Born in Enugu, Nigeria, Odinakachi Okoroafor (1987) builds a language where memory, movement and identity meet. His recurring symbol is the line - drawn both from barcodes and from the palm of the hand, which in Igbo tradition is believed to hold a person’s destiny. Bringing the two together, he sets the sacred against the technological, asking what remains of a person when identity is measured, scanned, reduced to data.

We’re proud to represent his work in Italy, and we consider him among the most compelling voices in ultra-contemporary African art today.

Happy birthday, Odinakachi - and looking ahead, we’re delighted to share that next year will bring a new project in China.

In the 1980s, Mario Schifano’s painting undergoes a complete transformation.

The monochromes and muted tones of earlier years give way to a painting that is an explosion of life - the paint tubes themselves become instruments, applied directly onto the canvas, as Schifano immerses himself physically in the work, almost as though it were an extension of himself.

The surfaces turn material, visceral.

His signature changes too: where the 1970s saw his signature consistently on the front, from the 1980s onward he favors signing on the reverse, generally accompanied by the title and date, also on the back.

Here we present Aspro, an extraordinary canvas in which Schifano chose to flood the frame itself with paint - invading it with color as though it were a natural extension of the canvas, a completion of the work itself, as if one could not exist without the other.

Mario Schifano, Aspro, 1987, enamel and acrylic on canvas and invaded frame, 113 x 113 cm.

Three works, three decades, three ways of thinking about painting after abstraction.

Gianfranco Baruchello (1924 - 2023) reduces the canvas to a diagram - enamel on aluminum, closer to a technical drawing than a gesture, where irony and precision share the same surface. Emilio Tadini (1927 - 2002) builds his figure out of fragments, a private alphabet of signs assembled into something between narrative and code. Yasuo Sumi (1925 - 2015), a founding member of the Gutai group, lets the material itself carry the weight of the work - paint applied with force, the act of painting left visible in the result.

Rome, Milan, Osaka. 1969, 1978, 1998. Different questions, asked in different languages.

Emilio Tadini, Figura, 1978
Yasuo Sumi, KYU, 1998

Trium Art Gallery is pleased to announce its participation in @artverona 2026, under the direction of @lauralamonea, marking the start of our representation of Rafael Baron (1986, Brazil) in Italy with his first solo show - unpublished works created exclusively for the occasion.

Baron’s brightly colored portraits - enigmatic figures, dark deep-set eyes, patterned textiles - open a dialogue on tolerance and diversity, imagining a world where difference coexists without division.
