Emerald Colombia "Three Amigos" 2019 - Magnificent Emeralds: Fura's Tears New York city In 2019 I had the special privilege of hosting a world renowned emerald exhibition in New York City. Assembling the emeralds felt as if I was assembling mystical artifacts of the world. The dragon balls, the Aztec crystal skulls, or the rings of power. After about 6 months of hunting down the specimens, I estimated about 80% of the known top caliber emeralds were in one room. I recognized this was a once in a lifetime experience. No museum nor private gallery had the contacts or qualifications to pull this off. I half expected an alien heist to take place. Truly the credit is spread to the mineral community. The willingness and trust to loan the emeralds, the security team, and the overwhelming support of dealers, museums, collectors, and most importantly, mineral enthusiasts. We did this together. I am grateful. The Three Amigos The top 35+ emeralds were all together. The top 10 were selected to be placed in the dark room. Among them, 5 truly stood out as the very best. I worked 6 months everyday talking to and observing gallery visitors. The Three Amigos captivated and mesmerized the human mind unlike any other piece. The power of quality. This green gem has literal stopping power. Last weekend, Green Mountain Minerals welcomed collectors, dealers, and mineral enthusiasts to Beacon, New York, for the inaugural Beacon Showcase. “The Beacon Weekend” was hosted at our gallery on Main Street, the event brought together members of the @manhattan_mineral_club_ through the support of Troy Wilensky, alongside exceptional specimens from the personal collection of Scott Rudolph and world-class selections from Fine Minerals International @fine.minerals.international and Wilensky Minerals @wilenskyminerals Guests enjoyed a presentation by Daniel Trinchillo on the revival of California’s legendary Eagle’s Nest Mine, as well as a collector reception graciously hosted by Robert Wiener. Special thanks also to Jeff and his team at @kitchensinkny for providing an outstanding culinary experience throughout the event. Created to celebrate the beauty, history, and significance of fine mineral specimens while fostering connections across the mineral community, the Beacon Showcase exceeded our hopes.
