Luminosity in the shadows

NiuNiu has completed her next evolution into a Demon Lord. Once the purr kicks in it is Total World Domination. Unfortunately, 6k of surgery for PPHD doesn’t render her any more intelligent - the tree still wins with three wraps while doing nothing. #rescuekitten #kittensofinstagram #kittens #demonlordniuniu by @trjameson

Kinda back in bidness. My dad says to be like Teddy and get up every morning and fight off the darkness. I am so grateful for my parents in what they gave and taught me. The 60 year old creeping juniper is morphing into fragrant pen staffs. The salvaged $54 Creality is printing dragons, and teaching me about negotiating menu variables to fix failed prints into successful gifts that light up our kids. The Hush tarot and the ravens whisper in my ear. The gentle spirits visit this sanctuary. And NiuNiu, the Chinese rescue cat is going to visit the surgeon tomorrow to re-establish the separation between heart and liver. Time to double-down on what is truly important. A shattered 60 yuan inkstick is a lifetime supply. I thought I might be elsewhere at this point, more dynamic, more “me”, but I recognize my blessings. #calligraphy #penstaves #lifegoeson #patience by @trjameson

Home. Kitten is settled. 6 weeks away burns away the fluff, and what is left is what was always there.

NiuNiu and the jade tree in prrrfect repose. The rescue mission from China had its moments, but all went well. Never let them run your cat through the x-ray machine. From Dongjingling to Shenyang, Seoul to Los Angeles, Lomita to Pajarito Acres - one lucky cat!

2 more Chinese Fountain Pens, both new. Thee is a cluster of about 8 calligraphy-related businesses around Zonghue and Xinhua Roads. I get to patina these with whatever years I have remaining. Always fun to fund a fude bent nib in the wild. Funny, I got the opposite story from a chinese calligrapher here. Folks say the fude are good for Chinese and Japanese characters, but not so good for Western letterforms. He told me they were’t so good for Chinese, but great for Western forms. I finally got a small workspace set up here at my wife’s house, complete with cat. I bought these carved seals at the weekend River market on Binhe Road by Guangyou Temple in Liaoyang. These are the meanings that the Void Bohdisattva Heart provided me with later.

I’ve been scouting for pens at the weekend river flea market in Liaoyang. These are my finds so far. All quite worn, but the nibs are sound and the bladders intact. The big find is the stainless Japanese ballpoint on the bottom - it needs a new cartridge. 50 yuan so far - about 7 dollars. taken in Liaoyang by @trjameson
