My sweet Layla girl, how can you possibly be ONE? 🥹💛 It feels like just yesterday I was holding you for the very first time, learning every little part of you and wondering how my heart could possibly hold that much love. You taught me that my heart could live completely outside of my body.

This past year has been the fastest, most beautiful, most emotional year of my life. I’ve watched you grow right before my eyes, from my tiny baby into this happy, curious, beautiful little girl—and while I’m so proud of who you’re becoming, a little piece of me wishes I could go back and hold the baby you were just a little longer.

Every late night, every sleepy cuddle, every first smile, every little milestone, every moment of watching you discover something new—I would relive it all a thousand times just to experience it with you again.

I wish I could pause time. I wish I could keep your tiny hands, your baby giggles, your cuddles, and the way you fit perfectly in my arms exactly as they are right now.

But as hard as it is watching my baby grow, I am so excited to watch you become the little girl you were meant to be.

I know there will be so many more birthdays, first days, adventures, and milestones ahead. But there will only ever be one first year—and I will treasure every second of ours for the rest of my life.

Being your mama is the greatest privilege of my life.
