There may be sharks in the tank, gators in the bayou, crocodiles at the waterhole. Let them be there. None of them change what you are.

You are the elephant. Grounded. Unshaken.

The weather may change. The light does not disappear.

I Can Just Sit in the Sun

A call to the present moment.
A call to your core self,
the humanity of you.

The simple,
the most simple parts of you.
The most primitive parts of you.

The thing that makes you
just the same as the grass,
just the same as the trees.
Just as simple as a rose
or a sunflower.

I can just sit in the sun.

A call back to the present moment,
to stillness,
back to rawness,
back to you.

A return to yourself.

At that place,
in that space,
is where the waterhole is.

Everything is okay.

Not okay as in good.
Not okay as in bad.

Everything is just everything,
right here in the moment,
right here in the present,

You can’t shame yourself for being afraid when you have evidence of everything you’ve done while afraid. Fear doesn’t erase the fact that you still showed up, still moved, and still finished. If you’re a finisher, get it done scared...

Life reminds us that we’re allowed to sit down sometimes, not because anything is wrong, but because peace deserves our attention too.
