Dear Booboo,

When your soul left the earth, it created a gaping hole in what was right, true, and good in the world. I don’t know how I can be expected to live these days without you. You know, people can be kind, funny, creative, smart, and unique. But not like you. You were the most of all of those things.
I will forever cherish the moments we shared together. As kids, you always knew I could never stay mad at you. You would do every and anything to annoy me, but I still couldn’t help to laugh. A lot of people think I liked roughhousing. No. You just wouldn’t let up until I did, and even then you got your payback (real ones know about you and your methods of destruction). Your laugh plays in my head on repeat. It’s the most joyous and comforting noise in the world. It’s #1 on the list, right above the Sunrise Reality song and the way you used to talk to Tabasco. I know you’d probably laugh at me crying and getting all sappy. You always thought it was funny when I cried, but not as funny as making me mad by making fun of One Direction.
When we got older, spending more one on one time together, you never ceased to amaze me. It was undeniable that you were way smarter and more creative than me. You were going to do things no one else could, especially not in our crazy family. Since the Ireland trip, we’ve had a new connection I don’t think anyone else in the family understands. You began to understand and see my pain, while I began to see the adult you were becoming. That trip was special and now it means even more that I have your postcards. They were loved before, but now they will forever be cherished.
I don’t think your purpose on earth was fulfilled. I know that’s what I’m supposed to think or come to terms with but I'm not. I need you, Noah. The world would’ve been such a better place with you in it. You had plans and ideas no one could have ever known about. A lot of people have been described as one of a kind. I think that’s a complete load. They didn’t know you. There truly never was anyone like you, Booboo. I will be forever heartbroken in a world without my baby cousin. You know I love you, and now you can feel how much.

Yesterday I lost a piece of my heart. A woman of many names—Rose, Rosa Mae, Bubbles, Aunt Bubs, Mrs. Daluz, even Miss Daisy—but to me, she was Bubbie and my namesake. My iconic grandmother, in her 87 beautiful years of life, gave us 54 years of unconditional love with my grandfather, 59 years of devoted motherhood to my brilliant mother, and 23 years of being the most fabulous grandmother.

Thank you for the life you built for me. Thank you for marrying the best man in the world. Thank you for showing me how to move through the world with grace and silent generosity. And lastly, thank you for loving me unconditionally, always. I will forever feel the same for you.

To have spent the last year living with you was the greatest gift of my life so far. Love you always.
