A dozen orcs stormed the Palantir offices in Seattle this week to apply for jobs at the surveillance tech company. Palantir's militarized AI products attracted the horde of orcs, who hoped that their history of serving the Dark Lords would land them a gig.

Unfortunately, Palantir didn't bite.

Palantir's technology powers ICE raids, enables Israel's genocide against Palestinians in Gaza, and builds tools for the US Department of Defense and domestic policing.

While co-founder Peter Thiel and CEO Alex Karp rake in billions, our communities face austerity, deportations, and deepening state violence.

Via @dunyaproductions We're excited to announce that tickets are on sale for the brilliant new play by @khaledostath_ "GAZA: The Silence Shouts." Woven from poetry, family conversations, and the ordinary language of people living through genocide, the play holds grief next to desire, wry humor, and unfinished domestic life. A key survives its door. A needle stands in a piece of embroidery. Above the houses, drones watch; beyond Gaza, people watch, too.

Meanwhile, a young woman from Gaza, now in diaspora, dreams of home. "Not Gaza as it is now-Gaza as it was. The smell of the sea in the morning. The particular blue of the shutters on Abu Mahmoud's building." What makes the dreams strange, she says, is that "the people in them are people I met here, in Seattle. As if my brain is trying to populate what's left with whoever is nearby."

The play unfolds in three parts. In Voluntary Displacement, families follow evacuation orders, trying to fit their lives into whatever they can carry. Voices speak to a world that has seen the images-protestors marching, Arab leaders silent.

In Return to the North, a family walks towards home while a sister overseas follows them via her phone. They want a shower. Privacy. A door that closes. Their first return brings the astonishment of a house still standing. Months later, they find the house gone. Somehow, they still argue about marriage and electricity. They trade jokes.

In What Remains, three men meet among the ruins. Nasser is trying to get his children out while his wife, Hala, continues filming hospitals, aid lines, and mass graves. Hala says, "If I leave, the record stops. I am the still alive evidence." Khaled wants to hold his grandson. Yousef stays near his wife's grave.

Gaza's voices rise again.

Directed by Hanna Eady and arranged by Edward Mast, the play also includes text by other writers from Gaza.

The show runs Thursday-Saturday nights, 7:30-9:30 pm, November 12-November 21, 2026, at Cherry Street Village, 720 25th Ave, Seattle WA 98122. For tickets, see link in their bio.

On Wednesday, October 21 from 6-8:30 pm, come learn how to plan a bird dog action, and how it can fit into an effective direct action campaign.

When targets are accessible, vulnerable to public pressure, and it’s the right time in the campaign, a bird dog action can cut through media filters and force accountability in real-time.

This training is for anyone who organizes or supports actions, whether in visible roles or behind the scenes planning. All are welcome, regardless of experience level -- this training has something for everyone!

Please join the Cut Ties Campaign and coalition partners next Monday, October 19th, in South Lake Union for a mini-march and street theater!

🍉 As we continue to pressure the Washington State Investment Board (WSIB) to divest from companies contributing to Israel’s genocide, apartheid, and ethnic-cleansing in Palestine, the WSIB wants to restrict our ability to hold them accountable at their public meetings. So we are taking our responsibility to expose unethical investments and hold the WSIB accountable to public space. These unethical investments highlight how Palestinian liberation is linked to the fight for environmental and immigration justice, and our action will build pressure on the WSIB by making those connections clear in a public forum. We hope you will join us for a mini-march and street theater, to show your support for the Cut Ties Campaign and learn more about the WSIB and how you can help us win divestment.
