UNC has given us some unforgettable moments against Miami and the Tar Heels have won 5 straight in the series. But this is a different challenge with No. 1 Miami coming to Kenan.

Halloween night. Under the lights. 7:30 kickoff. Should be an ELECTRIC atmosphere in Chapel Hill.

How do you attempt to slow down Malachi Toney? TACKLE.

Miami is going to get him the ball in space. A 5-yard completion has to stay 5 yards. UNC can’t let those turn into explosive plays.

Win the next play. That mentality from Billy Edwards Jr. is starting to show up when UNC needs it most. He battled back after two early interceptions against Notre Dame. Then against Pitt, after struggling at times, he responded again delivering a strike to Shamar Easter for the game winning touchdown!

“There’s still plenty of room to grow, but there’s no questioning the effort or competitiveness of this UNC team” @troyhillunc

That’s something you can build on. 📈

We saw the team and Billy Edwards respond after a tough start against Notre Dame.

Can they build on that performance this week against a Pitt defense that has been one of the ACC’s best so far?

Could this be the week UNC gets over the hump?

1,000 flashcards?! 🤯

That’s the level of preparation Billy Edwards is putting into playing QB.

Xavier Lewis got the game MVP, but Greg Smith deserves some recognition too.

Smith finished top five on UNC in tackles and nearly came away with an interception. Really impressive showing from the young DB against TCU. 📈

UNC’s offense left some meat on the bones.

They got the win, but there were opportunities for roughly two more scores. And that’s actually encouraging.

UNC did something against TCU that it struggled to do last season: FINISH 💪

It wasn’t always pretty. It didn’t need to be. After so many close games slipped away last year, UNC found a way to get the job done in Ireland. That’s a program win. 🔥

UNC’s defense showed up in a BIG way. 🔥

Xavier Lewis (@xavierlewis_90)was the standout and earned game MVP honors, but the bigger takeaway was the entire unit.

They looked more composed, played situational football and stepped up when the offense needed them

What does success look like for UNC Football in 2026?
Troy Hill says it’s bigger than going 6-6 or 7-5 and making a bowl game.

He wants to see:
🔹 A clear identity
🔹 Consistent improvement
🔹 A team that competes every week

What would you consider a successful season?
