Created by @rossgganf & his team on the Goodman Crescent Lawns, North Terrace, Adelaide, in front of Elder Hall, Lumen Bar runs every single day from 4pm, finishing on July 19. 🏠

There’s DJs every night channeling the spirit of the Acid Jazz movement with eclectic selections played from vinyl & CD (era-true) ranging for jazz, soul & funk to disco, house and drum ‘n bass. 🎶

Plus Fridays & Saturdays @surahnsidwho has curated an exceptional roster of live music for exclusive one-hour must-see shows. 🎷

All the entertainment is FREE. Book a table, or just walk in.🚶

Once again we’re holding the event on a Sunday for your convenience, with the heater blasting inside so you can keep out of the winter cold and discover some real heaters! 🔥

End your record buying weekend with a plethora of bargains, direct from the crates of Adelaide’s taste maker DJs. 🎧

At this Curated Record Fair, we welcome back Adelaide’s trailblazing DJ/Producer HMC aka @late_nite_tuff_guy, we’ve got crates of drum ‘n bass (and more) from @inboundrecords and the man behind Adelaide’s grooviest little club that could @renato_tomato!📦

And, there’s MANY more like, PhD’s house & disco platters, @dj_code618 with his techno selections, @deltathelostralian & @the_red_crate with their deep, funky crates, @troyjbeen, @aaronac12, @ing.erz, @ross.l.johnson, @dj_stevie_king, Sam Morrison & Monty.😀

We’re all here to share our love of music in an inclusive environment, free of stereotypical record fair nonsense. 🙏🏻

Still can’t quite believe I am DJing at Lumen Bar this Saturday night! And all thanks to the fact I still have my acid jazz CDs from the ‘90s.  I was fortunate to live in London in the early ‘90s and experience the Acid Jazz/jazz-funk vibe happening at the time. And then for Margie to say yes when I returned and suggest that I write a column about it in Rip It Up magazine. And so my weekly All Funked Up column started on Thursday April 21, 1994.  Seven years, and 371 weekly columns later this funky fun - sponsored by B# Records on Rundle St - came to an end in May 2001.
 Along the way I wrote about a lot of the music I will be playing at Lumen that I’ll share here - including the full page ‘ad’ for Talkin Loud records, interviews with DIG, Galliano and more, and my first and last (I think!) All Funked Up column… ENJOY! 
I’m just stoked I still have all those CDs from back then and can’t wait to play a 3hr set of acid jazz, groove and funk goodness this Saturday July 4 at AU’s Lumen Bar for the Illuminate Festival. AND to be the warm up DJ for the Jamiroquai cover band A Funk Odyssey: Hits of Jamiroquai who are then on 8-9pm!! 
See you there - and thanks again Ross, Troy, Sid, Adelaide University & Illuminate Adelaide for making this possible.

Festival season is over and now is an opportunity to spend time with your favourite records.

14 traders with deep crates give you full access to flick through their personal record collections.

Take home vinyl curated by Adelaide legend @latenitetuffguy, nightclub veteran Phd, the soul, jazz funk, hip hop vibes of @deltathelostralian and the techno & house flavours of @dj_code618 and MUCH MORE (check the artwork!)
