Book Review of Atomic Habits By: James Clear

3/5 stars

A good reminder that to become the person you want to be, your habits have to reflect that. And that 1% changes, consistently, lead to long term changes.

My father and I started a book club in August of 2024. I wanted something to do with him other than eat food and drink, as due to his throat cancer, he was no longer able to participate in those activities. I never knew how heavily gatherings were centered around food until this. So we started a book club. Then my mom wanted to join, so we allowed her to ;)

January 10th, 2025, my father passed away. I don’t have many regrets but I do have two. 1. Getting my son the dog he has now 😒. And 2. The Wednesday prior to my father’s passing, my parents called for book club. I told them that I didn’t have book club until Saturday on my phone and asked if we could postpone because I didn’t have my notes ready. They said of course and we chatted a bit and then hung up. My father passed away that Friday. I regret not doing book club on the Wednesday they called. I will never know what his thoughts about A Queer History of the United States By: Michael Bronchi.

Since then, I haven’t been able to read. But, Just finished my first book in 9 months. Atomic Habits. Funny that I am posting on his birthday. He would’ve been 80 years old today. Happy Birthday, I hope you are enjoying all the little delights you were denied on earth. Miss you and quiet presence. Next book up is his suggestion. 1984 By George Orwell. Here’s to you✨

Well… this week was busy. Grateful for the end of one book and the beginning another. Running in the rain with boyoh, graduating, and living my best life as a groundskeeper -look at the holy trinity 😍-. Probably one of the only posts I’ll post my face 😂 We out✨
