My husband wanted to post this as he feels very strongly that this could make a difference for us all.
We all know what happened in Tumblr Ridge was a tragedy.
We also know that the shootings are happening all over the world.
Whether it comes from anger, mental illness at this point, it doesn’t really matter. It just continues to happen. The governments promise to do something to make a difference. It doesn’t seem to.
What I would suggest is to make even more awareness to the problem to the general public. Maybe if this is could happen there could be a trickle down effect that would help to make families and individuals more aware of the consequences.
So my idea even though it’s not a new idea. Is to have the government or governments have printed available to everyone in BC and in Canada the Tumbler Ridge sticker that could be placed almost anywhere whether it’s vehicles and restaurants on ferry boats whatever. I think if there was a movement not dissimilar to the Terry Fox idea that he had to try and make a difference.
It sure did!! Because in the end it’s up to society to make a change. The guns are not going to go away. The mental illness is not going to go away. So having people become more aware in society, overtime can help to make the change.
This will take a movement directed by people that would be committed to help the idea become mainstream.
I think this would be a way to honor the people of Tumblr Ridge that lost their lives in such a senseless act. by @trudeanknight
