Real Heads know. House and Hustle are social dances. Both are club staples in NYC, and the dance floor is a better teacher than any class you take or video you watch. That’s where the real culture lives and the only way to be a part of it is to be an active participant in the community.

Last month we had the pleasure of sitting down with two of our fave NYC natives + dance lovers - @DavidHusneynyc21 & @Jeff_NewStyleHustle at @AfterMath.nyc and we talked about so much. From coming up in what some might describe as the golden age of dance in New York City, to discussing the changes we’ve all witnessed in the House, Disco, and Dance world in this beautiful city. Two difference eras, one shared love for music, the club dance floor, and movement & expression. Can’t wait to share more of our conversations with these two lovely fellas.

I do what I do, in hopes that what I create is true and above all, human. 🤍 This one hit me deeply.

Had chills the entire time we were making this video with the incredible @alhanislam. At a time when the world often makes me feel so powerless, she inspires me to believe that our voices and words are not futile. They are NECESSARY.

So incredibly proud of my amazing friend @lydiaperakis who will soon be opening @estiahouseofmovement in Brooklyn.

Over the years, I’ve watched ESTIA be cultivated into a beautiful community of multidisciplinary artists, all coming together to celebrate creativity and movement. In honor of everyone who has been a part of the journey, I’m sharing some of my favorite moments from the last festival.

“I remember you well, at the Chelsea Hotel” // New York, From the archives.

Lately I’ve been having a lot of conversations about artist spaces, or lack thereof. Somehow, this got me thinking about the wonderful, aging residents of the Chelsea Hotel – a wild assortment of artists who have been fighting against gentrification within their own building. Their homes are their studios: each door and corridor a reflection of their artistic soul. A few years back I had the honor of witnessing some of these spaces. I hope they are still there, intact, basking in the glory of a New York from a different time…🖤 by @trueandhuman
