Happy Birthday My Love 🤎

You are the most beautiful part of my life, and every day with you feels like a gift I never take for granted. I know our past placed countless obstacles between us and tested us in ways we never expected, but through every storm, every setback, and every difficult chapter, our love held on. We’ve walked a rough, winding road together, and no matter how hard life tried to pull us apart, our 🤎🤎 kept finding their way back to each other.

You may not always see how far you’ve come, but I do. You’ve survived chapters that would’ve broken most people, and somehow you came out of them with an even bigger heart. The truth is, we had so many reasons to walk away and only a few reasons to keep holding on. There were people and moments from our past that could have kept us apart, but instead, we chose to see each other for who we are today—not for who we once were.

We laid our past to rest, embraced the beauty of our present, and with our hands held tightly together, chose to step into the future side by side.

We may not be exactly where we want to be yet, but I truly believe we are exactly where God needs us to be. Through every prayer, every lesson, every blessing, and every moment of grace, we thank Him for the life and love He has bestowed upon us.

Thank you for choosing me. Thank you for choosing us. And most of all, thank you for choosing our little family, even on the days when choosing each other wasn’t always easy.

Two years down, and a lifetime of choosing you still to come.

Often, we become preoccupied with our expectations of where we should be in life, neglecting to appreciate our current circumstances. This fixation can lead to anxiety about the future and a sense of despair, as we forget to express gratitude for the present moment.

If we could rewind our lives, we would likely realize that the situations we find ourselves in today are the very ones we once prayed for.

Today, my partner and I set a goal to reach a specific destination, undeterred by our feelings or the weather conditions. Despite being in different states, he pushed through his mental fatigue while I braved the sweltering heat of 95 degrees. Together, we managed to cover seven miles, overcoming obstacles along the way, but ultimately, we both persevered.

See, gratitude will keep you grounded, god will keep you going. So, I pray we all walk the last 6 months of 2026 with faith, with confidence, & with GOD.

As someone who worked multiple jobs from a young age, sometimes having 2-4 jobs in rotation, it feels odd and unnatural to be unemployed.

Back in September, I made the significant decision to leave a job I had held for over four years. While it provided just enough to keep my home secure, it never allowed for any real growth, comfort, or ease. I often found myself scrambling for side gigs that, while not particularly lucrative, helped in emergencies.

This made me realize that staying in a position where loyalty and commitment went unrecognized I’d lose more of my time being an outstanding employee to an ungrateful company. A company that couldn’t even properly promote their most loyal workers who invested 1 - 2 decades of their life.

So, with the support of my partner, who helped encourage my decision, I boxed up my stuff at the end of my 12hr shift and met his embrace as I exited the office for the last time.

We danced, we cried, we laughed, and we celebrated. He watched me as I stumbled through this unfamiliar territory. I felt extremely happy to be out of a routine that kept me afloat but took me nowhere. Yet I felt useless due to years of associating my worth with my ability to contribute financially. Additionally, I was battling this new experience of motherhood, because being a stay-at-home mom was uncharted territory for me.

The desire to go back to work, hunted me all hours of the day. It was like an intense desire to put back on my worn out hoodie, despite how much holes it accumulated over the years. It took months to silence the negative self-talk and to break free from the survival mode that had been ingrained in me since childhood.

So, here I am finally allowing myself to slow down, to relearn, to revamp, and to redo. Cheers to all those on the journey of unlearning and relearning. May you release what no longer benefits you and embrace a new perspective on life. by @trueauthenticself

The journey of what it means to be 24 can vary greatly from person to person, and my partner exemplifies this beautifully. Leimia’s biological father was just 24 when she was born, and while he played a role in her life periodically, she often felt the absence of a strong male presence. As nurturing as I strive to be, I could see her longing for a masculine figure to look up to.

Fast forward eleven years, and this remarkable man has stepped into our lives, embracing fatherhood at the age of 24 with pride, honor, and grace. He reminds me daily that parenting is so much more fulfilling when shared between two. I now have the joy of witnessing my daughter experience genuine love from a man who not only cherishes me but also adores her as if she were his own. There are moments when I catch myself smiling at the beautiful bond they share, seeing the admiration they have for one another as father and daughter. And the best part is how he shows respect to her biological father, understanding that true fatherhood is rooted in compassion and commitment rather than competition.

So, while I may be late in posting for Father’s Day, I can wholeheartedly say that God was right on time in bringing us the missing piece to our family. Thank you for your unconditional love hunny, we honor you not just on Father’s Day, but every single day. We love you more than you’ll ever know!
