Our Ballroom event series is out! Get ready for the Friday Functions (FFs) every first Friday a month! ~ no function until further notice ~ This series aims to provide a regular space to kiki (= have fun & laugh with each other) while casually competing in traditional Ballroom categories such as Face, Realness, Runway, Body or Voguing aka Performance. No matter if you are already in Ballroom, just a beginner or interested to get to know the culture, everybody is welcome to join this monthly function. Come & jam with each other on the dancefloor before & after the function with our DJs serving us the fabbest beats! 🔥 WHEN: Every first Friday a month, 19:00-2:00 TIMETABLE: 🚪 Doors: 19:00-21:00 (chilling, dancing, vibing) 🗣️ Function starts: 21:00 🌙 End + afterparty: 0:00-2:00 WHERE: Garage Ost, Leipzig (Hermann-Liebmann Straße 65-67) THEME: Come as you are! 💋 Design by: @leifsty1e Concept & curation: @phenix.fulani Organization: Leipzig’s Ballroom Community NOTE: 📸 Parts of this event will be filmed/photographed and posted on social media. Certain categories are NOT ALLOWED to be filmed. *** Ballroom is a culture that was coined by LGBTQIA* Black & Brown people from New York (Harlem) with Black & Latinx trans* women pioneering the scene. A Kiki Function (or a Kiki Ball) is about having fun, the competition level is not the first priority. If you enjoy fashion, dance, and creativity, this can be your space to express yourself freely and learn a thing or two on the way. For existing members of the community, it can give them a chance to practice their craft or try out new categories they have never walked before or would not walk at major balls. Disclaimer: This series is not a Kiki ball, but a community function with a set of categories per night to come together, learn with each other & celebrate one another.
#grünauwasgeht #ballroomleipzig #voguefem #ballroomculture by @truecolours_______

Ballroom is a culture that was coined by LGBTQIA* Black & Brown people from New York (Harlem) with Black & Latinx trans* women pioneering the scene. Today it is celebrated and recognised as a global phenomenon but what does the culture mean for communities of the global majority? On the 7th of August @pixi_kollektivbar, ballroom communities from Colombia, Tunisia and Mexico are going to share their knowledge through short movies/video formats with included interviews and archive footage. “Ballroom’s International Alliances” invites us to a space for exchange and to ask ourselves: What are the specific needs of my community? What are the challenges that we face? Who do we look up to and where do we want to be? With special guest: @kgl.kiki ⋆｡☆‧˚⋅ 𐙚 @aminsrasra The evening will be hosted by no other than Legendary European Mother and German Trailblazer Leo St. Laurent @georginaleostlaurent 19:00 CEST (UTC+2) Pixi Bar There will be a Küfa with snacks <3<3<3 Organised by @banhmi_ngon @monochrome_azar by @truecolours_______

🤝 #community #bipoc #JUGENDSTIL #IDEENFONDS #TrueColoursFestival #QueerJoy #Leipzig #BlackExcellence #ContinuousSupport #Intersectionality #BIPoCQueer #love ❤️🖤💚 by @truecolours_______
